Anderson, 29, the landlord of disgraced Olympic skating star Tonya Harding, 31, filed a lawsuit seeking to evict his tenant and recoup more than $5,000 in back rent and expenses. Anderson claims that Harding, who was involved in the knee-whacking attack on rival Nancy Kerrigan in 1994, has not paid rent on a three-bedroom home since October.

On Jan. 16 in Sacramento, five former members of the Symbionese Liberation Army, the radical leftist group who kidnapped heiress Patty Hearst in 1974, were charged with murdering Myrna Opsahl, 42, during a 1975 bank holdup in Carmichael, Calif. Police arrested Bill Harris, 57, Emily Harris, 54, and Mike Bortin, 53. James Kilgore, 54, remains at large. On Jan. 18 in L.A., Sara Jane Olson, 55, pleaded innocent to these charges, minutes after being sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for her role in a plot to bomb L.A. police cars in 1975 (PEOPLE, July 26, 1999).
On Jan. 18 in Miami, music mogul Emilio Estefan Jr., 48, and his wife, pop star Gloria Estefan, 44, were granted a temporary restraining order against Venezuelan actor and singer Juan Carlos Diaz, 27, who days earlier had alleged that Emilio made unwanted sexual advances and threatened him. Estefan denies the charges and claims that Diaz followed him on the beach and came to his house uninvited.
Tina Brown, the cofounder and editor-in-chief of Talk magazine, announced on Jan. 18 that the February issue would be the last.
