"Mysterious and sexy will never go out of style," says Sama Eyewear designer Sheila Vance. Maybe that's why supersize sunglasses framed by bold plastic rims are proving a wide-eyed wonder for stars like Céline Dion. "I wear my vintage Chanel pair a lot" says The Young and the Restless star Lauralee Bell. "The Jackie O. sunglasses come back every couple of years," notes Liz Claiborne lens crafter Leslie Muller, who supplied a pair of the popular classic to Sarah Jessica Parker for Sex and the City. "It's a nice meeting of history and up-to-the-minute attitude." Because plastic has presence, stylists say, these vivid rims are a satisfying alternative to thin metal or wireless frames. "Larger lenses can wrap around more," Vance says. "With the smoother appearance, you avoid a bug-eyed effect." Plus, they are "a smart investment," Muller says, because they are safer. Outsize optics give greater peripheral protection and UV-ray defense. "And that," she says, "is exactly what sunglasses are supposed to do!"

Q. How does Britney Spears get her hair to have that "I just got out of bed" look?

A. It doesn't hurt to have stylists on speed dial whenever she desires a sexy, messy do, but left to her own devices Spears does rely on several potions. "I like Bed Head products by Toni & Guy because they keep my hair from getting frizzy," the pop princess says. For shampooing, "I use Clairol Herbal Essences," Spears bubbles. Apparently she prefers a totally organic experience.
Q. I just saw Star War: Episode II—Attack of the Clones, and I fell in love with Natalie Portman's natural look. How do I get it?

A. Portman may possess a lovely, less-is-more mug but not without the cosmetic creativity of Star Wars makeup supervisor Lesley Vander-walt. "I searched for products that would show Natalie's natural glow," she says. "I started with Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer and Lancôme's Maqui-Libre base." A. You might hint to the missus that you fancy Panerai's big timepieces. Grant owns three, which retail from $2,500 to $25,000. What's the lure for Grant and fans like Russell Crowe and Arnold Schwarzenegger? I guess it's the thrill of sporting a manly watch that was first commissioned by the Royal Italian Navy in 1938.

They just couldn't wait: Tod's beaded Rodeo bag won't hit stores until midsummer, but Naomi Watts, Melanie Griffith and Neve Campbell already have the flapper-flavored purse in their clutches. They special-ordered it. Why? Blame cross-generational appeal. "Someone young can wear it and not look like they're playing dress up," explains stylist Jessica Paster, who snagged the $1,650 bag (named for L.A.'s Rodeo Drive) for Watts and Brittany Murphy. "And an older woman can wear it without looking silly."

The power of the print propelled Michael Michele to top off her Carolina Herrera silk pants with a Dries Van Noten blouse for a premiere last week. "It was all about the shirt," the actress says. "I thought it was very appropriate for a sophisticated summer evening out in New York."

Roberto Cavalli scored a rare fashion coup when Heidi Klum, Angela Bassett and author Candace Bushnell all sported his sexy $5,738 silk floral gown at separate events. "It's one of my favorites. I'm thrilled to see three different kinds of women—a model, an actress and a writer—wearing it," raves the designer. "They all look perfect!"

L.A. Lakers coach Phil Jackson's yen for Zen has gone to his head, literally. He's been getting his locks cut by feng shui devotee and hair designer Billy Yamaguchi, who notes that "Phil's yang was earth and water," which, stylewise, adds up to a "Zen gladiator" look that's "still professional but a little risk-taking too." To keep the good chi flowing, Yamaguchi has clipped Jackson's hair throughout the playoffs.
