Chelsea Clinton has quietly dipped a toe into the international political arena. On July 1 the former First Daughter started a summer internship at the World Health Organization in Geneva. I'm told she spent her first day working on the group's Web site, and in the coming weeks she'll help design strategies to reduce health dangers to children around the world. No word yet on whether boyfriend Ian Klaus will jet in from London to help Clinton sample Geneva's nightlife.
Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer and his second wife, Caroline, are still enjoying the glow of postwedding bliss—except for the tourists constantly knocking on the front door of their London home. The couple, who wed last December, live in the famous Notting Hill house with the blue door that was featured in the film of the same name, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. "Even though Caroline sold the door for £5,000 [in December 1999] and the new one is painted a different color, they still come," Spencer says. Life should be easier when they move to the West London home they recently purchased from Pink Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour. That is, unless Pink Floyd fans come calling.
Christopher Reeve and his wife, Dana, celebrated their 15th anniversary on June 30, although they've only been married for 10 years. Turns out June 30 marks the day they met at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in 1987. "For both of us, we really feel like our lives changed the day we met," Dana tells me. The couple are looking forward to their next milestone. On Sept. 25 Reeve will celebrate his 50th birthday in New York City with a fundraiser for his Paralysis Foundation. On the guest list are a few other celebs who share his birthday—a group which calls itself the 9-25 Club and includes Barbara Walters, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas.
