I'm impressed with Tatum O'Neal's honesty about her battle with addiction. She is clearly a beautiful and talented woman. But above all, she is brave. I am familiar with the demons of addiction and know what a tremendous struggle it is. I wish Tatum continuing success in her sobriety and hope that she will soon be reunited with her children on a more permanent basis.

I find it both amazing and touching that, after her difficult childhood and disastrous marriage, Ms. O'Neal has retained a real sense of dignity. She has overcome obstacles that would have overwhelmed most of us. I wish her a future of continuing strength and serenity. As for Mr. McEnroe, at least he is consistent. He was an immature egotist when Ms. O'Neal married him, and he appears to remain unchanged today.

Tatum needs to grow up. She did not lose her children because her ex-husband wanted to ruin her life. She did not lose her children because of her father's lack of parenting skills. Tatum lost her children because she was a bad mother whose young daughter witnessed her using heroin. I've never been a fan of John McEnroe's, but after reading her story in PEOPLE, I am even less a fan of Tatum O'Neal's.

Shame on both Tatum O'Neal and John McEnroe. He claims to care about the welfare of his children. If this were true, he would never have written his autobiography. Tatum would have looked like the bigger person by simply not responding to any of it. She had nothing to gain by it, and in turn she publicly humiliates her father, Ryan O'Neal. The world doesn't need to know about their dirty laundry.

I feel bad for Cynthia Luther and other large people traveling on airlines. I think Southwest Airlines handled her situation poorly. The best solution would be for airlines to make their seats larger.

I was on a flight when the person next to me was spilling into my seat. I'm not insensitive to the over-weight, but I know firsthand the other side of this coin. She also seems to be passionate about what she calls a "child agenda," stating that "every child deserves love, and every child deserves to be respected." Tell us, Rosie, at what age does a human being cease to deserve love and respect? Perhaps you should broaden your crusade to a "human agenda." You can be funny without bashing.
