Soluna (Dream Works)

Yes, they look like finalists at the Miss Universe pageant. But these four Latinas, who were all born and raised in the States, can actually sing. During an a cappella interlude that is one of four tracks performed in Spanish, their lustrous harmonies are as bonita as their faces. The rest of this respectable if unremarkable debut updates the '80s freestyle of such girl groups as Exposé with the R&B-and Latin-flavored pop of J.Lo. Soluna—which is a combination of the Spanish words for sun (sol) and moon (luna)—shines on the lively dance numbers but not on the banal ballads. Did the world really need a remake of Air Supply's "All Out of Love"?

Bottom Line: Solid, but no all-timer
