More news on the boy-band front: Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell, 27, is about to become the first Backstreet Dad. His wife, Leighanne, 33, is due by the end of the year. "It's a boy," says Littrell. "We were a little surprised, but it's a good time because our schedules are lightening up a little bit." The couple haven't decided on a name yet, but they're ready in every other way. "I've always wanted kids," says Littrell. "I have a great relationship with both of my parents and now I want to share that with my kid. I'll have to pass out gifts this year at Christmas."
Newlyweds Julia Roberts and Danny Moder made a rare public appearance together on Aug. 20 at L.A.'s El Rey Theater to check out the Brit quartet Coldplay. And even at a rock concert, Julia is Hollvwood royalty: While Drew Barrymore, Minnie Driver, Heath Ledger and R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe had to squeeze in with the regular fans at the 700-seat venue, Mr. and Mrs. Moder caught the show from a private balcony. Roberts also demonstrated that she was more than familiar with the moody rockers, whose second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head, just arrived in stores. Dressed in jeans and a red T-shirt, the actress sang along to the band's 2001 hit "Yellow."
How hot is the ticket to see Broadway's new musical Hairspray• Well, a recent night drew directors Rob Reiner, George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola (separately, not together), while Matthew Broderick, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Rosie O'Donnell have already seen the show twice. Leelee Sobieski (The Glass House) came from L.A. to catch the Aug. 22 performance. "I woke up at 5 a.m. to catch a flight just so I could be there," she says. Smart move, since sleepier stars accustomed to snatching up house seats at the last minute are often out of luck: David Bowie and wife Iman were among celebs turned down for tickets to the Aug. 23 show.
