When I walked into my local bookstore, I spotted your magazine with Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox Arquette on the cover all the way across the room. Being a huge fan of the two, I found it touching to learn that, even in Hollywood, two people can become so loving toward each other. Thank you for sharing that with me.
Summer Doles, PADUCAH, KY.
It's nice to read that Jennifer and Courteney are real best friends. They sound like me and my best friend. But I can't help but wonder how much closer my best friend and I would be if we had millions of dollars and could jet off to Hawaii and Malibu. It must be a nice life.

When I saw your cover, I thought they were the Olsen twins.
Terry Wyrsch, FOSTER CITY, CALIF.
There has to be a great story behind the knitting project that kept David Arquette busy while on vacation with his wife, Courteney, and Jennifer Aniston. I would love to hear it.

Can PEOPLE restrain itself for one week and not devote the magazine to the cast of Friends?

My best friend and I get our toes painted together just like Courteney and Jennifer, but I don't see you putting us on your cover. Give me something to read about people who matter in this world.

Unmasking an Image
I bought your magazine strictly for Richard Chamberlain on the cover. I don't care if his first mate is a man instead of a woman. He still floats my boat. Congratulations for coming out of the closet, Richard. I hope others will be inspired to do so.
Gail Croft, BOISE, IDAHO
I fell in love with Richard Chamberlain when I saw him in The Slipper and the Rose, which, to this day, I watch at least once a week. That will never change. I always knew in my head he was gay, but in my heart it didn't matter.

Terms of Encampment
My family has been involved with the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs for the past 18 months. This program saved my child's life. He is healthy and has never been mistreated. These programs promote change in creating happy families through integrity and accountability.
Marybeth McClafferty, WILMINGTON, DEL.
My son was sent to the very same program that your story talks about. I hated sending him, but on the other hand he would not be alive today and would not be the huge success he is at age 20. Television and publications are always so quick to show the downside, but there are so many kids and families who are so grateful for these programs. How sad for the families who need these programs but may be turned off because of the view PEOPLE has portrayed.

Putting Politics on the Table
I was completely and utterly shocked when I read about the deck of cards displaying the faces of those who have chosen to speak out against the war. By doing so, creator Christopher Ruddy has made a blaring comparison between those who spoke out and the terrorists, which could not be further from the truth. Inspirational individuals such as Susan Sarandon are simply exercising their constitutional right of freedom of speech. Thanks to all who have bravely spoken out, yet still support the troops. To me, that is patriotic.
Josephine Andrews, FARGO, N.DAK.
It was difficult for me to tell if your item about the playing cards of people opposed to the war was in fact an article or an editorially driven point-of-view piece. I certainly do not recall a similar article encouraging people to buy a deck of cards depicting Bush and his cronies as warmongers.

How refreshing it is to know that Courteney Cox Arquette and Jennifer Aniston are great friends off the set. I hope they stay friends forever.
