star Tom Sizemore, 41, was convicted of physically abusing and harassing his ex-girlfriend, former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, 37 (PEOPLE, Aug. 25,2003). Sizemore, who will be sentenced in October, faces up to four years in prison. A rep for Sizemore could not be reached for comment....
Actor Robert Conrad, 73, pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of drunk driving on Aug. 12 in San Andreas, Calif. Conrad was arrested in March after he crashed his Jaguar into an oncoming car on a Rancho Paradiso, Calif., highway (PEOPLE, April 14. 2003). A rep for the actor had no comment.
Idi Amin, the ruthless former dictator of Uganda, died on Aug. 16 from multiple organ failure in Jidda, Saudi Arabia, where he had been living in exile for many years. Amin ruled Uganda from 1971 to '79, and his reign of terror, which was marked by widespread killings and torture, sent his country into economic ruin. Amin was believed to be around 80.
