Kerri Strug, the 87-pound gymnast who vaulted to Olympic stardom on an injured ankle, did a balancing act with Shamu, the 8,000-pound killer whale, while visiting San Diego's Sea World. Strug, 18, who starts at UCLA later this month, has been busy since the Games, yakking on talk shows, signing two book deals and even filming a cameo on Beverly Hills, 90210, which will air Sept. 18.

Julia Roberts (right, in top left photo, and above) gave 'em something to talk about when she boogied on the bar with a waitress at Manhattan's Hogs & Heifers, a biker joint, then donated something close to her heart—a black Maidenform bra (size 34B)—to the club's brassiere collection. Roberts, with beau Pat Manocchia, a gym owner, hit H&H after catching a concert by her ex Lyle Lovett (right).

Sister-act Kelly (left) and Sharon Stone showed solidarity at a Los Angeles gala, sponsored by INSTYLE magazine, which raised more than $67,000 for Planet Hope, a charity for homeless families they cofounded in 1993. Sharon's beaded gown from Casino fetched $26,000 at an auction of celebrity-donated items.

Hillary Rodham Clinton met her match—in miniature—when the Hillary Clinton Fan Club, based in Silver Spring, Md., presented the First Lady with a 20-inch-tall porcelain likeness at a White House reception. "Oh, I like that hairstyle," said Mrs. Clinton. (Sorry, HRC fans and doll collectors, but this doll, like the original, is one of a kind.)

Singer Cyndi Lauper had Manhattan's Washington Square Park on red alert when she dithered in (strumming a zither) to shoot a segment for Japanese TV.

Andie MacDowell happily shouldered the admiration of Italian fans at the Venice Film Festival. She was there to hype Multiplicity, her comedy with Michael Keaton, a box office dud stateside this summer.

Steven (right, father of Liv) Tyler walked like this at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City, where the Aerosmith lead singer was a presenter. Rappers Busta Rhymes (far left), a nominee for breakthrough video, and Rampage made phat subjects for photographers. The Smashing Pumpkins were the evening's big winners, taking home seven awards, including best video, while Alanis Morissette and Coolio each won three statuettes.

Bebe Neuwirth (left) and Sarah Jessica Parker hoofed (and tweeted) at Broadway on Broadway, a free performance in Manhattan's Times Square. The two leading ladies are Broadway bound in musical revivals due this fall. Neuwirth (who will reprise her guest-starring role as Lilith on Frasier) will appear in Chicago; Parker, in Once Upon a Mattress.
