ANGELINA JOLIE
Congratulations to beautiful Angelina Jolie. This generous actress has become a loving mother a second time to a child in need of a warm home.
Tammy Tse
Orange, Calif.
Let's salute Angelina. While we talk about the plight of Africa, she does so much more through her actions.
Maureen Nwadiuto Onuigbo-Derksen
Ann Arbor, Mich.
Hopefully, others will follow Angelina's lead and open their hearts to an African orphan. As the adoptive mother of five, I have to say, Angelina you inspire me!
Kath Edsall
East Lansing, Mich.
So Angelina adopted another child from a foreign country. Are we to pat her on the back and say good job? Sorry, but there are too many American children who yearn for someone to give them a home.
Sharon Devorss
Naples, Maine
LIVE 8
Your "Star Summit" article about the Live 8 concert was great. It would be wonderful if these bands help raise awareness and bring exposure to other poor places. Unfortunately, Africa is not alone.
Kristine Silva
San Ramon, Calif.
While the stars played an important role in bringing attention to the devastation in Africa, it's appalling that they showed up at the concert wearing bling-bling. Maybe they should donate the money spent on such accessories.
Stacey DiNatale
Tonawanda, N.Y.
THE FAMILY
Thanks for publishing an article about the controversial, alternative religious group the Family. I commend Daniel Roselle for taking a stand and fighting for justice. It takes courage to break away from such abuse and brainwashing.
Gina M. Nahas
Henderson, Nev.
I just finished reading about the Family and had to laugh. Roselle says he only had a first-grade education at age 20. I grew up in the Family, and he was one of my childhood friends between the ages of 10 and 18. He was an extremely bright person. I only wish you had quoted some of us in your story as extensively as you quoted Roselle and others. It only seems fair. Since it's too late for that, you've got my two cents here.
Mike Moore
San Diego, Calif.
BEN AND JENNIFER
It's just not fair. It's not enough that Ben Affleck is young, tall, rich, famous and handsome. Then his beloved Red Sox win the World Series. Now he's married to and having a baby with my dream girl, Jennifer Garner. Nope, it's just not fair.
