Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette threw a bash for their new TV show—the TBS comedy they produced called Daisy Does America—at Hollywood club Guy's Nov. 29. While pals David Spade and Matthew Perry came as expected, Joaquin Phoenix, Kirsten Dunst and a gaunt-looking Fred Durst randomly crashed the party. "What is this event?" asked Dunst on the way in, before dancing to "The Lady in Red." Next up for Cox and Arquette? Perhaps a movie starring Cox as a hip-hop dancer. "I don't know how," she admits. "But I'm ready [to learn]!"
A MANSON WEDDING
The most shocking thing about Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese's wedding Dec. 3 was that it wasn't. Word was the rocker and his burlesque-star girlfriend would lick blood from cuts on each other's fingers during the ceremony at an Irish castle. But Manson, 36, and Von Teese, 33, just traded personal vows. "Everyone expected a vampire wedding," says a guest. "[Not] the classy affair that it was." But there were quirks: The bride donned a Vivienne Westwood gown—in purple. And the best man was joined by a "worst man," (Manson wanted two best pals in his wedding party.) The next day guests like Lisa Marie Presley and CSI's Eric Szmanda could try falconry—working with live birds of prey—or shooting clay pigeons with a 12-gauge. "It was extravagant and intimate," says a guest. Adds another: "We'll be talking about this for years!"
JOEL'S PIANO GIRL
After years of shying away from showbiz, Billy Joel's daughter Alexa, 19, is following in her dad's footsteps, singing and tickling the ivories around N.Y.C. "She's a much better pianist than I am," Joel told the crowd at the 92nd Street Y Nov. 28. By taping a Conan O'Brien spot, Dad almost missed Alexa's first big gig in New Jersey Dec. 1. But that's a good thing. Says Joel: "I don't want to be a stage father."
JOSEPH'S TABLE, TAOS, N.MEX., DEC. 1 Julia Roberts and Danny Moder leave their ranch for an intimate dinner. They might as well be in Beverly Hills: Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan (filming Seraphim Falls in the area) eat at separate tables nearby... MEKHI PHIFER'S HOME, L.A., DEC. 3 Paris Hilton and Internet gossip maven Perez Hilton (no relation) arrive together for Phifer's annual holiday bash that coincides with the ER star's 31st birthday. Stavros Niarchos joins her (of course), along with Don Cheadle, Bobby Brown, Jamie Foxx and Danny Masterson, all dressed in '70s chic for the Studio 54-themed party. Later the Hilton crew head to the Solstice Sunglass party at PRIVILEGE, WEST HOLLYWOOD, where Lindsay Lohan grinds to the Ying Yang Twins' XXX "Wait (The Whisper Song)" and then gives promoter Brent Bolthouse a big hug...SCANDINAVIA HOUSE, NEW YORK CITY, Dec. 3 As Uma Thurman pays for holiday gifts at the register, boyfriend Andre Balazs plants a kiss on her cheek.
