My goal when this is over is to do deals with Donald Trump instead of for him," says Bill Rancic. That's the long view for the 33-year-old Chicago entrepreneur, hired by Trump on the April 15 finale of NBC's The Apprentice. For now, though, he's still on the ground floor, teamed with a longtime Trump associate, construction magnate Greg Cuneo, as they prepare to break ground this fall on Trump's new 90-story Chicago hotel condominium building. Four months into his $250,000-a-year job as an overseer, "I'm picking up on it pretty quickly," says Rancic, whose 80-hour workweek also includes promoting (and appearing on) the next Apprentice. "I'm building trust." Says mentor Cuneo: "He's a good apprentice. I got to get me one."
