Something in the Air
Josh Brolin and Diane Lane, The Apprentice's Sam and Katrina, and Seinfeld's John O'Hurley All Head for the Altar
There was no Donald Trump to dramatically bark "You're married!" Still, seven of Campins's old Apprentice pals braved Hurricane Charley and journeyed to Florida for her wedding to Moss, 26, at Trump Sonesta Beach Resort outside Miami. Dressed in Vera Wang (and $1.5 million in loaned jewelry), Campins, 24, removed her Jimmy Choos to walk down an aisle of indoor grass. There were, however, some stumbles: While exchanging vows she'd written with Moss, a real estate broker she has known since high school in Coral Gables, "I meant to say, 'You take my breath away when you walk in the room,' " says Campins, "but instead I said, 'I lose my breath when I walk in a room.' " (There might have been even more interesting gaffes if she'd gone through with her plans to use a tame orangutan as her ring bearer.) Nonetheless the ceremony reduced The Apprentice's Heidi Bressler to sobs. "It's the most romantic wedding I've seen," she said, "and I've been to weddings!" No honeymoon for now, though: Campins is busy with her ESPN sports gig Cold Pizza. "We'll go to Italy next year, when I have some time off."
Diane Lane & Josh Brolin
It's right, really right," Josh Brolin told PEOPLE in 2003, not long before his engagement to Oscar-nominated actress Diane Lane. The same could be said of the couple's wedding: an understated, hilltop service before approximately 70 guests (including Brolin's stepmother Barbra Streisand) on his 97-acre ranch north of Los Angeles. The only music was classical guitar; the 39-year-old bride and her maid of honor, actress Elizabeth Perkins, went barefoot along a dirt path; and guests, shepherded to the spot by SUVs, were allowed to bring along their dogs, which roamed the property. Of that handful of pooches, one was a Coton de Tulear, named Samantha, that belongs to Streisand. The singer-actress was on the arm of her husband of six years, the groom's father, actor James Brolin.
Both previously married, Lane and Brolin included their children in the service, conducted by his friend, actor Anthony Zerbe (he worked with Brolin, 36, on the TV series The Young Riders). Eleanor, 10, Lane's daughter with actor Christopher Lambert, and Eden, 11, Brolin's daughter with actress Deborah Adair, were both flower girls. Brolin's son with Adair, Trevor, 16, served as ring bearer.
Sam Solovey & Lori Levin
For a man who made his name as The Apprentice's most voluble fire-ee, Sam Solovey got married in a decidedly understated fashion: No Trump. No Omarosa. In fact no one from the reality show was even invited. "It's a wedding, and you want it to focus on you, and especially on the bride—on Lori," says Solovey, 28, who's now on the lecture circuit. Still, as he and Levin, 26, a fifth-grade teacher he began dating 5½ years ago and proposed to on the Today show in January, took their vows in a traditional Jewish ceremony at Washington, D.C.'s Mayflower hotel before 200 guests, "he was a little emotional," says groomsman Riyad Alie. His bride, who Alie says "was beaming the whole time," had warned him, "Don't cry, Sam." He didn't, but as the newlyweds took the floor for their first dance, "It Had to Be You," Sam could be seen mouthing all the words to Lori.
John O'Hurley & Lisa Mesloh
When I first saw Lisa come out, she took my breath away," says O'Hurley, sounding a bit like J. Peterman, the mail-order clothier he played for three seasons on Seinfeld. "It was the golden hour and it was right by the ocean. She looked stunning." O'Hurley, 49, and Mesloh, 32, a marketing executive for the Golf Channel, tied the knot just after 6 p.m. at Santa Barbara's Bacara resort. "I looked up at him at the altar, and he had his hand in front of his mouth," says Mesloh, who wore a beaded wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier. "I realized he was trying to keep his emotions in. It made me teary-eyed, but I didn't lose it." Among the 203 guests looking on were the real J. Peterman (he and O'Hurley have been co-owners of the catalogue since 2001), Seinfeld castmate Patrick Warburton (David Puddy), Malcolm in the Middle's Bryan Cranston, Loni Anderson, Cheech Marin and former Vice President Dan Quayle, a golf buddy of O'Hurley's since they met at the Phoenix Open in 1999.
It was at another match in March 2003 that O'Hurley and Mesloh first linked up. Last October, during a sunset outing at Pebble Beach, O'Hurley proposed on the seventh hole with a 4-carat platinum engagement ring. Golf naturally dominated the wedding weekend, with 40 players in a bride vs. groom tournament. "My team won!" says O'Hurley with a laugh.
Post-nup, guests dined on lobster risotto and Chilean sea bass, topped by a four-tiered white lemon cake, and danced to a 10-piece band. "We were the last two to leave the reception," says O'Hurley, "and when we came back to our room, there were 5,000 rose petals spread out like a heart on our bed." Following their Mexican honeymoon, the couple say they hope to have a baby. "I'm convinced it'll be a girl," he says. "We're going to name her Annie." And if it's a boy? Vows the catalog czar: "We're going to name him Neiman Marcus!"
