Singer Carnie Wilson of the pop trio Wilson Phillips, 36, and her husband of four years, musician Rob Bonfiglio, 37, are expecting their first child. "It's such a beautiful miracle," says Wilson, whose 1999 gastric-bypass surgery was broadcast on the Internet.... Former Good Morning America host Joan Lunden, 54, and her husband, Jeff Konigsberg, 43, a camp owner, have a second set of twins on the way. The babies, due in March, are being carried by Deborah Bolig, the same surrogate mother who delivered the couple's 15-month-old twins Max and Kate. Says Lunden, who has three older daughters from a previous marriage: "I feel like I'm living on Noah's ark."
The Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn DiScala, 23, revealed that she suffers from severe migraines as well as attention deficit disorder. The actress says she is being treated with medication and attributes her conditions to a tick bite that gave her Lyme disease six years ago.
According to his wife, Joan, comedian Rodney Dangerfield, 82, slipped into a light coma shortly after his Aug. 25 heart surgery (PEOPLE, Sept. 20, 2004). "His overall condition, however, remains stable," she said in a Sept. 20 statement. "Rodney is starting to show signs of awareness. We are all hopeful that he will regain full consciousness soon."...On Sept. 21, a federal judge ordered domestic maven Martha Stewart, 63, to begin serving her five-month prison sentence by Oct. 8. In July, Stewart was convicted of lying about a stock sale (People, Aug. 2, 2004)...On Sept. 16, the L.A. coroner's office ruled that funk musician Rick James died of a heart attack due to an enlarged heart, caused in part by drugs, including cocaine. The 56-year-old James was found dead at his San Fernando Valley home Aug. 6 (PEOPLE, Aug. 23,2004).
Guitarist Johnny Ramone, 55, who cofounded the highly influential punk rock band the Ramones in 1974, died of prostate cancer at his L.A. home Sept. 15. Ramone (born John Cummings) was renowned for his fast, aggressive guitar playing, which was copied by a generation of rockers. Three of the band's four original members have died in the past three years.... Famed divorce attorney Marvin Mitchelson, 76, whose many celebrity clients included Joan Collins and Bianca Jagger, died of cancer Sept. 18 in L.A. While representing the longtime girlfriend of actor Lee Marvin in the '70s, Mitchelson famously introduced the concept of palimony, which held that cohabitating partners should receive similar rights to legally recognized spouses.
