Amy Fisher, 30, who spent seven years in jail for shooting the wife of her lover Joey Buttafuoco in 1992, gave birth to a baby girl, Ava Rose, on Jan. 26 on Long Island. This is Fisher's second child with husband Lou Bellera, 54, a retired police officer. Their son Brett is almost 4.
Actress Mackenzie Phillips (One Day at a Time), 45, and music conductor Keith Levenson, 45, will marry in June. This will be the third marriage for both.... St. Louis Cardinals shortstop David Eckstein, 30, popped the question to his actress girlfriend Ashley Drane (Blue Collar TV), 23, on Feb. 4 in Orlando. They plan to wed in November. This is the first marriage for both.
Actress Elisabeth Rohm (Law & Order), 31, has ended her relationship with MSNBC anchor Dan Abrams, 38. A spokesperson for Rohm says the two are still friends.... Citing irreconcilable differences, Kelly Phillips, 37, filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, actor Lou Diamond Phillips, 43, Feb. 2 in L.A. They have three children, twins Grace and Isabella, 7, and daughter Lili, 5.... Also on Feb. 2, Margaret Caruso, the wife of actor David Caruso (CSI: Miami), 49, filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. The couple, who married in 1996, have no children.
On Feb. 4 in New York City, Britney Spears, 23, filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against eight British insurance companies that she claims failed to pay her S9.8 million in reimbursements after she canceled her 2004 world tour following a knee injury in June. According to court papers, the insurance firms haven't paid out their policies because they say Spears didn't disclose that she had knee surgery five years earlier. The insurance companies could not be reached for comment.... Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight, 39, was arrested on Feb. 5 in Barstow, Calif., on suspicion of violating his parole after police allegedly found marijuana in his truck during a traffic stop. Knight, who was released from prison in 2001 after serving five years for a parole violation stemming from an assault conviction, recently completed another 10-month prison sentence for violating parole. A rep for Knight could not be reached for comment.
Actor John Vernon, 72, best known for playing the villainous Dean Wormer in 1978's Animal House, died Feb. 1 in Van Nuys, Calif., of undisclosed causes.... German boxer Max Schmeling, 99, died Feb. 2 of undisclosed causes at his home in Hollenstedt, Germany. In 1936 Schmeling rocketed to worldwide fame after knocking out U.S. boxer Joe Louis. Schmeling then lost their 1938 rematch at Yankee Stadium.
