With Timothy Greenfield-Sanders shooting portraits at the spring runway shows, style setters were ready for their close-ups
Over the past 20 years photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders has shot 6,000 portraits of everyone from Jimmy Carter to Nicole Kidman. His latest venture—snapping attendees at Olympus's Fashion Week in New York—seemed a natural fit. "Fashion Week is all about photography," he said. "You do your runway show for 15 minutes, and then it's all gone. What lasts are the photos." But he admitted that he found shooting inside the tents at Bryant Park instead of in his Manhattan studio "very frantic. You don't sit and get to know each other—it's more hurry up and wait." Greenfield-Sanders regretted not having tea with each of his subjects, as is his preshoot custom. Still, no fashion watchers complained about the lack of Earl Grey. "It was very easy," Beyoncé said of her shoot. "He knows exactly what he wants. I'm sure the picture will be beautiful." No need to guess how it turned out—you've got a front-row seat for the end result (top left).

The singer of "Dip It Low," Christina Milian, decided to follow her own advice at the Grammys, choosing a beaded Versace dress with a plunging neckline.

MAGIC BEAN? Rabbit's feet are so passé (and not very red-carpet ready). But Jennifer Garner and Cate Blanchett may have found a chicer lucky charm. Each carried Judith Leiber's Bean clutch to the SAG Awards and each walked away with an actor statuette. We hear at least one Academy Award nominee has selected it too, so maybe an Oscar is in the bag?...

DRESS DILEMMA: While she found the perfect SAG clutch, when it comes to adorning herself for the Oscars, Cate Blanchett could use more luck—or at least more time. "I'm going through that horrendous pressure of choosing a frock," the nominee lamented at the British Academy Film Awards last week. "When you have two kids, you can't jet off to shop in Paris." What's a movie-star mom to do? "I use the Internet" to get ideas, she says. Somehow we don't think she'll copy Katharine Hepburn, whom she played in The Aviator. That Great Kate wore gardening clothes to the 1974 Oscars. Stay tuned....
SHIRT TALES: "Life is what inspires me," says Kelly Osbourne, describing what lies behind her new line of T-shirts, Stiletto Killers. But one look at the shirts shows that love, or lack thereof, is really what Osbourne has on her mind—and her chest. The shirts have 17 different designs and slogans like "Just Break Up With Me" and "I'm Not With Stupid Anymore."...

LIP SERVICE: What's in Teri Hatcher's bag? At the Golden Globes it was "filled with my new gloss from Cargo!" the actress wrote in a thank-you note to the Cargo rep who gave her samples at a pre-Globes gathering. The portable packs fit in the tiniest of black-tie bags—perfect for award winners like Hatcher who need to reapply between congratulatory kisses.
