There's so much love in the air," a friend said of German supermodel Heidi Klum, 31, just before her May 10 wedding to British pop star Seal, 42. "This is a natural progression in their relationship." It would be hard to top the extravagant romance of their Dec. 23 engagement on the top of a glacier, with a specially built igloo to serve as love shack. Instead, their sunset nuptials were a quiet heart-melter, conducted in front of 40 guests gathered on a beach near Seal's home on Mexico's luxurious Costa Careyes. Klum wore a Vera Wang ivory chantilly lace gown with an empire waist, and violinist Edvin Marton played Pachelbel's Canon in D on a Stradivarius. The cake served at the reception at Seal's home was topped with a miniature Seal in a tux and Klum in a gown.

Their wedding was never meant to be "Donald Trump style," Klum—who's expecting a child with Seal in the fall and has a 1-year-old daughter, Leni, by Italian businessman Flavio Briatore—told PEOPLE last month. "That's not us." The couple, who met in 2003 in New York City and recently bought a $4.3 million Bel Air estate, see themselves as a team—and as happy parents. "We were always going to be together. It was always going to work," said Seal. "I would die if I didn't have my music. But I love my family much more."
