MOTORCYCLIST
AGE: 23
In his third year of racing for Honda on the top international circuit, the "Kentucky Kid" will compete in July's Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix.
"Racing is what I grew up doing—it's in my family's blood," says Hayden, who turned pro at 16 and has two brothers who are also on the American circuit. Job requirement? "It's important to be small and light," he says. Off the track, he's lighthearted. "I'm pretty happy-go-lucky." Find him in the departure lounge, going to his next race. "I travel so much, I've met a lot of chicks in airports."
Gunnar Jeannette
SKYDIVER, RACECAR DRIVER
AGE: 23
The pro sports-car driver has branched out into skydiving, which earned him a slot on MTV's upcoming documentary True Life: I Live on the Edge.
"There is really nothing like looking out from 14,000 feet above and saying, 'Yeah! I'm gona jump out into all of this!' It's just so cool," says Jeannette, who has been skydiving since 2000. "But you don't lose your stomach like on a roller coaster." He's also happy with his day job racing cars. "I can't imagine anything better than what I'm doing," he admits. Okay, one thing: "Being a professional rich guy."
Jeff Hall
POLO PLAYER
AGE: 25
Hall started playing polo at age 5. Now he's a top-ranked pro who trains some 120 horses on his father's 500-acre Houston-area ranch. A five-time winner of the USPA Silver Cup, he was also the U.S. Open polo champion in 2003.
"I do pretty much everything that's thrill seeking," says Hall. "I don't like to read too much. I like to be outdoors all the time." In addition to flying planes, snow-boarding, skiing and riding motorcycles, he drives a Porsche 911 Turbo. "I love fast cars—they're fun. You get in lots of trouble."
Carl Edwards
NASCAR DRIVER
AGE: 25
In March at Atlanta Motor Speedway, he became the first driver to nab career-first back-to-back wins in NASCAR's Busch Series and Nextel Cup.
"If you can't have fun doing this, I don't know what you can do," says Edwards, who also hikes and rides motorcycles near his Mooresville, N.C., home. "But when it's time to compete, it's time to compete. I really take it seriously. I was excited when the parents of my first girlfriend came over to see my racecar. After I finished showing them the car, I was so proud, and her mom said, 'So, what do you do other than this?' "
