JASON POMERANC
Marilyn Monroe suite, Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, LA.

AGE: 34
WHEN HE'S NOT AT HOME: A lawyer turned real-estate mogul, he oversees the renovations and operations of the six hotels he owns with his brothers and other partners.

A bicoastal art buff, Pomeranc splits his time between a downtown Manhattan loft and Marilyn Monroe's former digs at the Roosevelt, which he's rehabbing into a Hollywood hot spot.

The M.M. connection: In the '50s, Monroe lived in the 950-sq.-ft. one-bedroom suite as a struggling actress for two years and again briefly with husband Joe DiMaggio. "There's a sense of both tragedy and drama about this room," Pomeranc says. "You can feel her beauty and vulnerability as well as her recklessness."

Amenities include: A flat-screen TV, vintage furniture and a stainless steel kitchen, but hey, there's always room service.

PHIL MALOOF
Beverly Hills mansion

AGE: 38
WHEN HE'S NOT AT HOME: The onetime New Mexico state senator (1994-2000) helps run his family's businesses, which include the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and basketball's Sacramento Kings.

Boy toys: Maloof's 12-room Mediterranean-style home boasts a tanning booth, cardio and weight rooms, wine closet, stocked humidor, massage room with automatic aromatherapy, and a home theater. There's also a guest house, which includes poker and pool tables as well as a giant flat-screen TV, one of 12 he owns. Plus lots of land, a pool and a great view of Los Angeles beyond a manicured hedge.

A date at his place: "I hired this great Louisiana chef, Britney Spears's father, Jamie. His food is so good I have to work out four times a week now. I'd have him cook some fried chicken and mashed potatoes. I'd get a masseuse, we'd play some pool. Everything's here. I don't really like going out."

MICHAEL BALL
Marina Del Ray, Calif., condominium

AGE: 41
WHEN HE'S NOT AT HOME: He's the CEO and designer of jeans company Rock & Republic—Naomi Watts, Cameron Diaz and Usher are fans.

His space: The 2,000-sq.-ft, two-bedroom condo is "modern and minimal," says Ball, who moved out of a house in Santa Monica because "I obsessed over the garden. I wanted something low-maintenance."

Dates like: The 800-sq.-ft: balcony. "Girls get a little too cold," he says, "but they are impressed by the view of the ocean." His cooking. "My favorite dish to make is Salmon Alia Checca," he says. "It's very quick and very impressive. Things usually work quite well after that:"
