REBECCA'S WORKOUT SECRET
Rebecca Romijn has the hots for her personal trainer. "He has the most beautiful body I've ever seen!" she tells us. Not to worry, the man helping her shape up for X-Men 3 is her beau, Jerry O'Connell. The couple have hit the gym daily since mid-June so that Romijn can don her formfitting bodysuit to reprise the role of Mystique in August. "I've had a great year with my boyfriend: I fell in love and had a lot of romantic dinners," says Romijn, who admits she wasn't exactly watching her figure earlier in the year. "It was worth every last chocolate mousse and bottle of wine. But now it's crunch time."
SEALING THE DEAL
We hear Seal shelled out $280,000 to get Heidi Klum a Lorraine Schwartz heart-shaped canary yellow diamond necklace (inset) for her recent 32nd birthday. The bauble matches Klum's estimated $500,000 canary yellow diamond engagement ring. Seal had the necklace flown to Germany so he could spring it on her there. Klum proudly wore the bling at the Council of Fashion Designers of America's awards in June.
DANES TO DANCE
While at the Rosa Mexicano restaurant on New York City's Upper West Side on June 29 to celebrate her Self magazine cover, Jessica Alba bonded with Claire Danes over cell-phone pics of their pooches—Jessica has two pugs, and Claire (still with her beau, Billy Crudup) just got a schnauzer-poodle mix—and the fact that Danes went to Yale with Alba's boyfriend, director's assistant Cash Warren. Danes also spoke about her modern-dance piece she's been developing for a year that's inspired by the famous Andrew Wyeth painting Christina's World. Danes will debut it at N.Y.C.'s P.S. 122 on Sept. 22.
CLOONEY: BACK IN ACTION
George Clooney's slow recovery from back surgery for a ruptured disk in December is keeping him from his beloved basketball. "I can't play right now. I'm old, but I'll get it back," Clooney 45, tells us. Still spry enough to go clubbing, the actor hit the outdoor deck at New York's BED on June 28, then hung out with Jon Bon Jovi at Marquee. Leaving at 2:30 a.m., he flew to Italy the next day to edit his upcoming drama Goodnight and Good Luck at his Lake Como villa. "It's not torture—it'll be fun," he says. The actor also plans to join a Bono- and Bob Geldof-led delegation at the G8 conference in Perthshire, Scotland, July 6-8.
PARTY HOPPING
Mood, L.A. June 29 Kirsten Dunst and Jake Gyllenhaal make out in the VIP area of the jam-packed club. "They didn't care who was watching," says one observer. So who was watching? Maroon 5's Adam Levine, Jermaine Dupri and Shannon Elizabeth.... ROKBAR, L.A. June 30 Pam Anderson and her ex Tommy Lee arrive holding hands at the opening of the new L.A. club and soon begin smooching in their booth. Says Lee: "Our relationship right now is way better than it ever was when we were married."
