TWEED BREED
What are tweed coats—an itchy, Britishy staple—doing wrapped around so many stylish stars? It's because of their new, relaxed attitude and "modern cut," says designer Louis Verdad, who made Cate Blanchett's funky cloak. "She went to my coat and said, 'I love this.' " From Molly Sims's clever pairing of a ladies-who-lunch jacket with chicks-who-don't jeans to Demi Moore's deconstructed overcoat, it's clear this Sherlock Holmesian relic has been rediscovered. And that's elementary fashion: Everything old is new again.
