HOMETOWN: Lowestoft, England
LATEST GIG: World tour that hits the U.S. March 26

•Buzz factors: After stirring Beatlesque excitement in England and much of Europe, their debut album, Permission to Land, is currently getting loads of radio airplay in the U.S. Frohtman Justin Hawkins, 28; his guitarist brother Dan, 26; bassist Frankie Poullain, 32; and drummer Ed Graham, 26, have single-bandedly revived classic power pop à la Queen and Thin Lizzy.

•Mock and roll: "They bring back fun to rock and roll," says ardent fan Sir Elton John. "They don't take themselves seriously."

•No time for rehab: At the band's frenetic live shows, Justin dons specially made chest-baring catsuits costing up to $18,000. But the excess usually stops at the stage door. "We're not stumbling out of cars and shagging loads of [women]," says Justin. "We're like an '80s rock band with the benefit of hindsight."
