A week after the Super Bowl's Nipplegate, another 'N Sync member was up to some high jinks at the Feb. 8 Grammys. "I'm crashing this place," admitted JC Chasez. But those stars who actually had tickets were on their best behavior: The White Stripes' Jack White passed out roses to female photographers, Outkast's Andre 3000 and Big Boi escorted their moms to their afterparty, and Gwen Stefani complimented her nervous 8-year-old niece Madeline on her "perfect" Grammy attire. American Idol Ruben Studdard even feigned recognition when singer Lisa Loeb told him she'd voted for him, later admitting, "I don't know who most of these people are." Armani-clad Jennifer Love Hewitt was one celeb who dared to show skin. "I wasn't at the Super Bowl," she said. "I can get away with it!"

In the Pink
Knowles donned a Roberto Cavalli minidress for her show-opening duet with Prince. "I still can't believe it," she said. "We rehearsed for four days so we could get comfortable with each other."

Dolce vita
Midshow, she pulled her hair into an updo and switched into Dolce & Gabbana to sing her hit "Dangerously in Love 2."

Golden Girl
Backstage with her five trophies ("I'm shaking"), she redonned her arrivals gown: designed by mom Tina, from Knowles's upcoming clothing line.

Party time!
To cap off her "wonderful night" Knowles slipped into Armani for the Sony Music party. "I wanted to be feminine and comfortable."

Luther's reaction
Still recovering from a stroke, Luther Vandross watched the show with 25 family members and friends at his hospital. He "absolutely loved" his tribute, says his business manager Carmen Romano, but was most excited about winning a song of the year Grammy.

Where was Cameron?
As a victorious Justin Timberlake experienced "the greatest moment of my life," girlfriend Cameron Diaz was preparing to shoot In Her Shoes across town. Timberlake escorted mom Lynn Harless to the show and skipped the party circuit.

Where was Janet?
Balking at CBS's request that she apologize on air for her Super Bowl stunt, Jackson was a no-show. Instead, said boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, the singer spent the evening holed up in an L.A. recording studio, finishing her new album, Damita Jo (a reference to her middle name), due March 30.

Where was Gwyneth?
While Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin picked up the record of the year Grammy with his band, his pregnant wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, opted to stay in New York City, where she spent time with mom Blythe Danner. Rather than celebrate without her, Martin caught a plane soon after the ceremony.
