Paris Hilton has filed suit against a company she claims illegally distributed the infamous tape showing her having sex with her ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon. Hilton, 22, sued Kahatani Ltd., a Panama-based Internet company, for $30 million in damages Feb. 4 in L.A.
RECUPERATING
Actor Colin Farrell, 27, recently injured his foot after he slipped on a stairway at a Bangkok hotel. Farrell, who is in Thailand filming the epic Alexander, was fitted with a cast at a local hospital and soon returned to the set. "He is fine," says the actor's rep....
Actress Celeste Holm, 84, who won an Oscar for 1947's Gentleman's Agreement, was rushed to a New York City hospital Feb. 3 after becoming ill during the premiere of Bernardo Bertolucci's film The Dreamers. Her rep could not be reached for comment.
UPDATE
On Feb. 9 in Tucson, singer Diana Ross, 59, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and was sentenced to two days in jail. Two more serious charges against Ross were dropped last month when the singer accepted a plea deal (PEOPLE, Jan. 26, 2004). Ross was arrested in December 2002 after local police stopped her driving in the wrong lane.
DEATHS
Saxophonist Cornelius Bumpus, 58, a former Doobie Brothers member who had performed with Steely Dan since 1993, died Feb. 3 after suffering a fatal heart attack on a flight from New York City to California.
