UNFINISHED BUSINESS?
Lenny Kravitz, whose new CD, Baptism, is due next month, says he's "completely happy" right now. "Making music is it for me." But the rocker, 39, admits, "I also want to have that partner and that home life." Well, there is a certain lady he was linked with last year. Kravitz and Nicole Kidman seemed so close that wedding rumors ran rampant before the romance apparently fizzled in December. Is there a chance that he and the actress, who met through a mutual friend, might rekindle the flame? "At this point, to tell you the truth, we're connected, no matter how you slice it," he says. "Right now we're great friends, and whether it will go or not go, I couldn't tell you, to be frank." Adds Kravitz: "She will always be someone in my life."

HITTING THE BOOKS
Motherhood is prompting Brooke Shields to tell her story. The 38-year-old actress is finalizing a deal to write her autobiography, which will focus on postpartum depression. Shields, who gave birth to daughter Rowan Francis last May, suffered from a serious bout of depression before getting help. "She wants to let other women know it's a common occurrence and nothing to be ashamed about," says a source close to the actress. Shields, who has been appearing on That '70s Show, next costars with Tom Green in the upcoming comedy Bob the Butler.

HOLLYWOOD HEIR PLAY
Are hot new couple Mischa Barton and Brandon Davis ready to make it official? "Yes," Davis replied when I asked if Barton was his girlfriend. "She's a wonderful person." Davis, twentysomething, the grandson of billionaire Marvin Davis, says he was smitten with the O.C. star when a friend introduced them at a charity event Feb. 24. A rep for Barton, 18, won't comment on the couple's relationship, except to say that they're "hanging out and having fun." Meanwhile, The O.C.'s Benjamin McKenzie, who was previously linked to his costar, still denies they were ever an item. "Personally, I am a little bit happy that it will take away the rumors about us," says McKenzie.
