Louisiana Native Britney Spears Returns to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, Treating a Group of Girls Hit Hard by Hurricane Katrina to a Day of Chatting, Eating and Shopping

She has started a relief foundation, but during her recent visit to New Orleans, Britney Spears wanted to surprise some girls affected by Hurricane Katrina with a more personal gift. "We went to this trendy boutique, and I bought each of them an outfit complete with shoes and a purse," she says. They talked accessories—but also about the girls' hardships. Says Spears: "I was very moved."
