Steelers Super Bowl quarterback Ben Roethlisberger underwent seven hours of surgery June 12 to repair a broken jaw and facial fractures he sustained when his motorcycle collided with a car in Pittsburgh. DARYL HANNAH: UP A TREE
Sometimes going out on a limb simply doesn't work: Actress Daryl Hannah was arrested (left) June 13 while perched in a walnut tree to protest the demolition of a 14-acre urban garden in South L.A. The environmental activist, 45, along with 16 other demonstrators, faces charges for allegedly violating a court eviction order and obstructing law enforcement. "I'm not thrilled about [the arrest]," the Kill Bill star said to PEOPLE from jail. "But I felt it was important to sustain my commitment.... This farm should be a model for sustainable urban agriculture." Hannah isn't the only celebrity seeing green: Willie Nelson, Danny Glover and Leonardo DiCaprio have all expressed their support.
