BEATLEMANIA, BABY
Watch out, Celine, there's a new show in town! Love, Cirque du Soleil's new Beatles-themed production, premiered at Las Vegas's Mirage Hotel and Casino June 30, and it's bloody brilliant—if the lads do say so themselves. "The music was incredible!" drummer RINGO STARR told Insider with a laugh. "It's a great, great show," added PAUL McCARTNEY. (The two joined John Lennon and George Harrison's widows, YOKO ONO and OLIVIA HARRISON, for the performance.) "I was surprised with the emotion I felt when I heard the voices of George and John," says Starr. "Two of our brothers were in the room, even though they weren't sitting next to us."

NO SHIRT, NO PROBLEM
He's still remembered for a certain 1999 nude drum routine, but on June 30 a vacationing MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY proved he doesn't need bongos to cut loose. Fresh from his breakup with PENELOPE CRUZ and with male pals in tow, the actor hit Costa Rica's Mar Azul bar clad only in swim trunks and ordered rounds of Cerveza Imperial. "He's not a great dancer, but he had a great time," bar owner Wendy Genaro Angulo tells Insider. "He was raising his arms in the air and yelling 'Costa Rica!'" adds an onlooker. "He was crazy, in a good way."

FAST TAKES

Need to own a piece of Hollywood history? An (allegedly) authentic program from NICOLE KIDMAN and KEITH URBAN's June 25 nuptials is up for bid on eBay. At press time, the starting price, $260.26, had not been reached.

Life of the party TARA REID has "toned down the partying," she swore at the 944 magazine fete at the Palms in Las Vegas July 1. The star, who just wrapped If I Had Known I Was a Genius, added, "When I'm working, I can't have fun."

What would Regis think? At a sweltering Cain Estate party in East Hampton July 2, KELLY RIPA joked, "I'm wearing Diane von Furstenberg—and that's it. Nothing else!"
