And on Oct. 28 Julia Roberts hit another milestone: "Welcome to the over-40 club!" says Liam Neeson, who costarred with a 20-year-old Roberts in Satisfaction back in '88. What's changed since then? Eyebrows, hair, bank balance ... but not that smile. "I've had the pleasure to watch Julia grow up," said Pelican Brief costar Denzel Washington at last month's American Cinematheque Awards in L.A. "She's come through with grace." Roberts, who celebrated her birthday with friends and family at her Taos, N.Mex., ranch, is taking it all in stride. "I appreciate life more," she told Oprah last year. "I don't feel like I have to be constantly striving." Still, she hasn't lost her touch. "If you share the screen with Julia," said Tom Hanks, "no one is even looking at you."
