Both have had busy years. Talan, 19, the MTV high school reality show's ex-football jock and self-described party animal, juggled relationships with his Laguna girlfriends. Last year Kimberly, 26, Paris's club-hopping best friend after her rift with Nicole Richie, was engaged to musician Cisco Adler. Torriero's rep, Jack Ketsoyan, says the couple dated "for a couple of months" before they decided to take the plunge.
On Nov. 16 the pair picked out a 5-carat diamond ring from L.A.. jeweler Neil Lane. That night, holding hands as they walked into the Xbox 360 launch party in Beverly Hills, they broke the news to friends, including Paris and her sister Nicky. Torriero's rep says no wedding date has been set, so that gives Torriero—who just wrapped a role in the thriller Driftwood—time to get to know his future mother-in-law. On Nov. 17 Alana had the couple over for dinner at her Beverly Hills home. "He's very sweet. I really liked him and I'm looking forward to getting to know him," she says. "But I said to Kimberly, 'How could you get engaged to someone I never met?' And she said, 'Well, you're lucky we didn't get married in Vegas.' She seems really happy, but I haven't gotten over the shock yet."
