Sharing baby news is a delicate matter, especially when the mommy-to-be is a high-wattage celeb. For her part Nicole Kidman, 40, has been candid about both her desire to have a child with husband Keith Urban—"I'm yearning for one," she told Vanity Fair last fall—as well as her past heartbreak, telling Marie Claire in December that she had suffered both a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy during the course of her marriage to Tom Cruise. (The pair adopted two children: Isabella, 15, and Connor, 12.) But Kidman has remained notably mum in the wake of a Dec. 29 story in Britain's Daily Mail by close Kidman watcher Baz Bamigboye that she and Urban, 40, had shared their baby joy with friends and family over Christmas. Wendy Day, Kidman's Australian rep, brushed off the report, telling Melbourne's Herald Sun, "She must have had about 30 babies by now." Neither of the couple's U.S. reps denied the story; Urban's publicist told Scoop, "I certainly won't confirm speculative reports." If she is expecting, Kidman remains busy: She's wrapped the epic Australia, a shoot for which she did most of her own horseback riding, and begins filming The Reader in Berlin this month.

Lauren Conrad had a Laguna Beach flashback on Dec. 29, partying with ex-boyfriend and former castmate Stephen Colletti at nightlife guru Pantera Sarah's birthday bash at Central nightclub in Hollywood. "They were so flirty and giggly," says an onlooker. By the end of the night, "they were totally making out." Conrad and Colletti, both 21, made no secret of their romantic redux. "They weren't sneaking around," the source says. "They were very open about it." And it shows: The Hills star brought Colletti to Las Vegas's LAX nightclub the next night!

Sean Penn & Robin Wright Penn DIVORCE!
After 11 years Sean Penn, 47, and his wife, Robin Wright Penn, 41, are history. Wright Penn filed papers Dec. 21, citing Dec. 1 as their separation date and "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. Oddly enough, on Dec. 7, Penn filed papers citing the same reason, but his petition was later dismissed (no reason was given for the case being disposed before trial). The couple, who met on the set of the 1990 film State of Grace, are both seeking joint legal and physical custody of their children, Hopper Jack, 14, and Dylan Frances, 16. The actor had a rocky marriage to Madonna in the 1980s but shed some of his bad-boy image during his time with Wright Penn. Still, a friend says, "He doesn't always wear his wedding ring out. I've never really considered him a 'married man.'" A hearing is slated for April 21.

Since Kiefer Sutherland, 41, began a 48-day sentence at a Glendale, Calif., jail on Dec. 5, he's been a solitary man. "Only his attorney has visited," says a jail rep. "He had no [one] on his birthday [Dec. 21], Christmas or New Year's." He adds, "There was no special food, no decorations, no special privileges."

How does it feel being TV's sexiest man of the cloth?
I feel really lucky ... having a role like this on TV.
Did you grow up in a religious family?
I did. I went to Catholic school in Brooklyn.
So, are you a saint or a sinner? Um, I guess I would have to say a little bit of both! I try to be a good person. But I think through familiarity, you naturally just do things that are kind of, I guess, wrong.
Ever worn your on-set garb off-set and been mistaken for a real Episcopal priest?
I was walking around New York once, and there was an old couple following and walking behind me. At first, [the wife] said, "Oh, look, it's so nice—a young man being a priest." Then she said, "I realized you were a phony!" She saw me go in the trailer.
How is the New York your character lives in different from the New York you grew up in?
I grew up in a middle-class neighborhood. I had what I needed, but I was in no way exposed to that life of luxury.
Your costar Samaire Armstrong entered an out-patient facility in October for "personal issues." How is she?
She's great. It didn't feel to me there was any big problem.
During the '90s, you modeled in fashion shows. Interested in modeling again?
There are lots of beautiful ads and great photography, but I don't think there's underwear modeling in my future!
