A Sneak Peek at a TV Special Starring Celebs Who Traveled the World to Help Kids Living in Poverty
Natalie Portman's new TV special was shot on a shoestring, but she hopes it makes a mint. Earlier this year she visited AIDS orphans in Uganda to raise awareness for the Listen Campaign, which aims to raise $1 billion for needy kids. "I can't understand how anyone could not ... want to change the reality for these children," says Portman, 26. Other stars such as Ashley Judd, Brooke Shields and Samuel L. Jackson also visited kids around the world for Listen, and their travels will be seen in a two-part CBS special that airs in June. Says Listen founder Tony Hollingsworth: "We're trying to help 400,000 kids a year and make a radical change in their lives."
