The troubled chanteuse, whose rep says she went to the police station voluntarily for questioning, is due back in early March pending further investigation.... Nicole Kidman (inset), 40, was awarded unspecified damages Dec. 14 from London's Daily Telegraph in a libel suit against the newspaper, which she accused of falsely reporting that she breached a contract to promote Chanel No. 5 perfume. A November gossip column claimed that the actress had recently carried Jo Malone's White Jasmine and Mint to press junkets for her film The Golden Compass.

Singer-actress Queen Latifah, 37, has been named the newest celebrity spokeswoman for the diet program Jenny Craig. The Hairspray star's campaign, launching in January, "will be focused on a healthier lifestyle," says Scott Parker, the company's V.P. of marketing, "not on getting into a specific dress size."

U.S. Rep. Mary Bono, 46, R-Calif., who was married to the late singer-turned-politician Sonny Bono and replaced him in Congress after his 1998 death in a skiing accident, wed fellow House member Connie Mack, 40, R-Fla., in Asheville, N.C., Dec. 15. Mack is the great-grandson of the Hall of Fame baseball manager of the same name.

A recently disclosed 911 tape sheds new light on the desperate last moments of Donda West, rapper Kanye West's mother. "Is she breathing?" the dispatcher asks. "We tried to do CPR on her," says one of two unidentified women on the tape. "She's not responding." The Grammy winner's mother died at age 58 on Nov. 10, one day after undergoing cosmetic surgery.... Prosecutors in Aruba announced Dec. 18 that they had closed the investigation and will not pursue charges in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, the Alabama teen who vanished during a May 2005 trip to the island. In a statement, they said police had "exhausted all their powers and techniques in order to solve the mystery." Authorities said they lacked sufficient evidence to convict the three suspects, Dutch citizen Joran Van der Sloot, 20, and Surinamese brothers Deepak Kalpoe, 24, and Satish Kalpoe, 21, who were seen leaving a bar with Holloway, then 18, the night she vanished.

Golfer-entrepreneur Greg Norman, 52, and tennis champion Chris Evert, 53, became engaged Dec. 9 while aboard the future groom's private Gulfstream jet. "They are both very happy that they found each other," Evert's rep says. The couple, who live near each other in Boca Raton, Fla., were en route to the South African Open golf tournament when Norman popped the question. Both were recently divorced from longtime spouses: Norman's 26-year marriage to former flight attendant Laura Andrassy ended in September, and Evert's marriage to Olympic skier Andy Mill was terminated in December 2006 after 18 years.
