WEDDING BELLS FOR JAMIE LYNN!
A week after her sister was spotted at designer Monique Lhuillier's boutique in Los Angeles—popular with brides-to-be—Jamie Lynn Spears, 16, is drumming up her own set of wedding rumors with boyfriend Casey Aldridge, 18. "They're planning a summer wedding, but they're waiting until after the baby is here," a source close to the Aldridge family tells Scoop. "His parents are on board. I don't know about the Spears family." While coping with enormous public scrutiny, the couple have maintained a united front, shopping hand in hand in her hometown of Kentwood, La., on Feb. 10. Aldridge works at "a good-paying job" for a pipe company, and Spears is focusing on passing her GED exam. Says a source: "They are going to have a tough time, but they are planning, and that's a positive." A representative for Spears denies a wedding is in the works, and the source admits the couple's plans "are just that; they're plans, and plans can change in a second."
HER DAD'S NEW RULES!
How the pop star is revamping her posthospital life one step at a time:
1 EAT SQUARE MEALS
She swapped a Big Mac for a lobster burger at Citrus on Feb. 16 and settled for salad and sushi two days later in Bel Air.
2 DITCH THE HANGERS-ON
Replacing MIA pals Sam Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib are family friend Victoria and her assistant Brett. Also new to her crew: bodyguards.
3 HANG WITH YOUR FOLKS
Rifts aside, Spears has been spending time with mom Lynne and dad Jamie. Ex Kevin Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan sees this as "a sign of progress" and is hopeful her parents will "stabilize a situation that was wildly in flux."
Getting back into the groove, she held a dance class on Feb. 13 for 10 youngsters.
ARE THESE COUPLES BACK TOGETHER?
ADAM LEVINE & REBECCA GINOS
The Maroon 5 hottie and the waitress split in January, but at Fat Sam's Grand Slam Jazz night at Teddy's in L.A. Feb. 14, Levine surprised Ginos with a cake while she waited tables. The duo cuddled and kissed the rest of the night!
DOMINIC MONAGHAN & EVANGELINE LILLY
The former Lost costars (he's off the show, but she's still on) called it quits last year, but on Feb. 13 the duo—joined with some friends—visited West Hollywood bar Tom Bergin's. No PDA, but they raised a few eyebrows!
Hot Spot of the Week
MANSION NEW YORK
Since its February opening, Mansion New York, an offshoot of the Miami hot spot, has hosted a slew of young Hollywood creatures-of-the-night such as Wilmer Valderrama, Kim Kardashian and Danny Masterson. Spice Girls Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton have also headed to the hip haunt, which features fire pits, Pucci-print silk couches and acrobats hanging from the ceiling. In addition to standard bottle service, stars can choose from a variety of cocktails, from passionflower and wild yam-infused martinis to the club's signature lemon balm-mint gin and tonic.
HEADING BACK TO WORK!
It's been six months since Owen Wilson's apparent suicide attempt, and the actor is finally getting back to work. The Texas-born funnyman will begin shooting Marley & Me, the best-selling story of a writer who raises a mischievous dog, in Miami in March. "It's been a long time coming and I really couldn't be happier," says Marley & Me author John Grogan. "I'm thrilled to have Owen Wilson portray me." And the Miami nightlife scene is eager for his arrival in Miami, where he partied with Woody Harrelson on Dec. 6. "All of Miami is buzzing," Mo Garcia, the VIP host for Mansion nightclub, tells Scoop. "We look forward to seeing a lot of him on South Beach."
Justin's New Routine!
Following Grey's Anatomy star Justin Chambers' brief stint at UCLA's medical center in January—he was treated for "a pre-existing sleeping disorder," says his rep—the actor, 37, has found comfort in a new morning ritual: He's become a fixture at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel's 25 Degrees restaurant. His routine? He's been eating breakfast there almost every day at precisely 7 a.m. "He's always very sweet with the staff and customers," another regular tells Scoop. So nice he brought three staff members Valentine's Day presents: matching "Hollywood" sweatshirts!
Paul & Heather
JUDGE TO DECIDE HEATHER'S PAYDAY
One of the nastiest celebrity divorce battles is well on its way to becoming the longest-running too. Two years after Paul McCartney, 65, and Heather Mills, 40, announced their separation, the pair are hopelessly deadlocked over a settlement—despite reports claiming that Mills had agreed to $100 million. On Feb. 18 it was decided that with the warring ex-couple at an impasse, Justice Hugh Bennett in London's Royal Courts of Justice will now decide who gets what—and when. If they don't like his ruling, the couple can appeal, but the hearing would likely be heard in public, and despite the public squabbling, neither party would be that eager to have that happen. British lawyer Vanessa Lloyd Platt tells Scoop that Mills, who represented herself, should break down and hire a lawyer: "I don't think she'll find [the court] very accommodating."
DIANA'S INQUEST GETS NASTY!
Mohamed Al Fayed has waited more than 10 years for his day in court to address the August 1997 death of Princess Diana and his son Dodi. In London Feb. 18 he got it—and ripped into the royals, who he says "slaughtered" the couple.
On Princess Diana: She suffered in "this Dracula family ... they are going to be engaged; Diana was pregnant. This is why they are murdered."
On Prince Philip: "He is a racist.... He will not accept my son as a person who is different religion, naturally tanned, curly hair."
On Prince Charles and Camilla: "They cleared the decks. He married his crocodile wife, and he is happy with that."
Dishing with Clay Aiken
The Idol singer, 29, is starring on Broadway in Monty Python's Spamalot. He chatted with Scoop about:
SPAMALOT: It's smart, intelligent and almost highbrow humor. The punch lines don't slap you in the face. But for someone who's not a dancer, it's kicking my rear end!
HIS NEW CD: We're hoping [to release it] May 6. In the past five years, I've learned a lot about life. I would like to wrap a lot of the music around that theme.
A NEW IMAGE: Last time I came out with dark crazy hair. We don't have any plans this time. But I've got the red wig....
AMERICAN IDOL: It's something I wouldn't be here without. But I haven't watched it in three years. I've got other things to do!
LOOK WHO'S DANCING!
It doesn't premiere until March 17, but already ABC's Dancing with the Stars is gearing up for a scandalous season. Just ask Steve Guttenberg, who jokingly is hoping for a hook-up ("The Gutt needs a date!" he pleads). (Not pictured: magician Penn Jillette, actor Cristián de la Fuente, R&B singer Mario, radio and TV personality Adam Carolla and actress Marlee Matlin.)
STEVE GUTTENBERG, 49
"I'm thrilled," says Guttenberg, who recently wrapped Major Movie Star with Jessica Simpson.
MONICA SELES, 34
Former Tennis Pro
Dancing, schmancing. Seles says she fell in love with the show by "watching the beautiful costumes the ladies get to wear."
PRISCILLA PRESLEY, 62
"It's a time in my life where I just want to have fun," Presley says of why she's taking the Dancing challenge. "If I can just have fun with it, I will be okay."
KRISTI YAMAGUCHI, 36
"It's been 16 years since I've done any competition with judges," says the '92 Olympics gold medalist. "You don't want to make mistakes."
JASON TAYLOR, 33
Pro Football Player
"At the end of the day, I have to go back to work," Taylor says. "The last thing I want to do is go out there and look like Clyde Drexler."
SHANNON ELIZABETH, 34
"I'm looking forward to the rehearsals," Elizabeth admits. "There's no stress. You're just learning, exercising and getting into shape."
MARISSA JARET WINOKUR, 35
Having dropped 40 lbs. since her Hairspray days, Winokur jokes, "I'm the only woman on the show that's excited to wear the costumes!"
