ANNIVERSARY
On July 18 film critic Roger Ebert, 66, celebrated his 16th wedding anniversary with wife Chaz, 55, after a grueling year in his ongoing battle with complications from salivary gland cancer. He suffered a hip fracture in April and remains unable to speak. "Chaz must have been listening during the part about 'in sickness and in health,' because she has been my champion and my strength during this difficult time," notes Ebert. "I love her more every day." Says Chaz: "Sixteen years ago our wedding was a fairy tale come true, and the fairy tale has continued and deepened all these years." Ebert no longer appears on his TV show, though he continues to write reviews for the Chicago Sun-Times.
