JOLIE-PITT TWINS

"It's hard not to be captivated by Brad and Angelina's ever-growing, multicultural family"

Congratulations to Angelina and Brad. Your pictures captured the happiness, awe and excitement of their welcoming home their newest additions. Anyone can tell that Angelina and Brad are committed to one another and that they love all of their children equally and unconditionally. Best wishes to all of them.

Thank you so much for helping us share in the obvious joy of the Jolie-Pitts. The photos seem to truly represent what they all are feeling, and the happiness is catching. For a few minutes I felt like I was a part of their loving and joyful family. You did a great job on this feature.

It's refreshing to finally see a new mom looking like the rest of us—tired! Angelina has outshone all the other celebrity "new mom" covers with no makeup and an everyday nightgown. Sometimes, the only thing needed for a great portrait is what the Jolie-Pitts have in abundance: joy.

Good grief—19 pages of coverage on the Jolie-Pitt family? That's just about 17 pages too many for me. Why didn't you just publish an entirely separate issue all about them? Then at least I could have had the option of avoiding it.

UNABOMBER'S BROTHER

I would like to express my gratitude and admiration to David Kaczynski and Gary Wright for sharing their story with us and for demonstrating so beautifully the healing power of forgiveness. Life dealt both of them such terrible pain, out of which a strong bond and friendship have developed. There is a lesson here for all of us.

TROPIC THUNDER

I am extremely disappointed that your reviewer gave the movie Tropic Thunder 3 1/2 stars out of 4. There was no mention of how star/director Ben Stiller and his crew humiliate those with disabilities in order to get a laugh. As the mother of a son with Down syndrome, what do I have to do to get filmmakers to understand that this will never be okay?

SHAWN JOHNSON

I appreciate your spotlighting Shawn Johnson in your magazine. It is so refreshing to see an Olympic gymnast who loves the sport but is able to lead the life of a normal teenager. We need more people like her coach Liang Chow, who stresses education before gymnastics. That's the key to lasting success.

STAR TRACKS

By running three photos showing Halle Berry's T-shirt endorsements of Barack Obama, it's almost like your magazine is supporting him. I think you need to leave politics out of your publication. No one cares who Hollywood stars vote for. They don't live in the real world.

THE HORSE RESCUER

Since our article on Thoroughbred rescue farm Old Friends Equine appeared, owner Michael Blowen reports, "Our phones are ringing off the hook. People now understand what these animals go through and are contacting us about other Thoroughbreds to send our way. Even some of the horses are getting fan mail!" With the nearly $25,000 that came in just last week, he says, he'll be able to build enough corrals to accommodate an additional 30 horses. Readers were both appalled at the plight of these Thoroughbreds and unstinting in their praise of Blowen and his wife. "The notion that these animals end up at a slaughterhouse makes me ill—shame on their owners!" writes Deborah Fisher of Madison, Va. "There's definitely a place in heaven for Michael Blowen and Diane White."
