While crafting cards is more time-consuming than buying them, Hannigan and a friend host card-making parties to turn the effort into a social event. "That's when I get them all done," says Hannigan, who surprised her family with the professional quality of her work. "I sent the first one to my mom. She didn't think it was homemade," she says.
Married for five years to actor Alexis Denisof and expecting a baby next spring, she adds, "I love the domestic: cooking, decorating, wrapping presents. In California we really don't have seasons—you have to decorate! That's how you know it's the holidays."
