Lindsay & Samantha
Even their breakup is tumultuous. After sources close to Samantha Ronson, 31, confirmed to Scoop the deejay split with Lindsay Lohan earlier this week, Lohan took to her MySpace page on Jan. 5 to retaliate—"We did NOT break up!" Despite her protest, those close to Ronson insist she's done. "She just wants her life back. She's ready to walk away from Lindsay's mad, mad world."
If their New Year's Eve is any indication, their world has been marked by one blowout after another. Celebrating in Miami on Dec. 31, Lohan, 22, left their dinner in tears. They made amends at a SoBe bash at Mansion where Ronson was spinning but just two hours later were screaming at each other in their hotel room, which they reportedly trashed. On Dec. 20, Lohan fled Hollywood's Ecco Lounge "crying uncontrollably" after an argument, but the next day was at Ronson's side during her brief hospitalization for exhaustion. "It's a horrific cycle," says an insider. "The fighting doesn't stop and just gets worse and worse." Has it reached a finale? "It's so hard to tell," adds a pal. "They fight every day of their lives."

The former American Idol winner's Charlotte, N.C., home will be sold this month due to Barrino's alleged failure to square up loans used to pay taxes in 2006. (Barrino's rep declined to comment.)
The comic's half brother Darryl McCauley, 43, has been accused of embezzling over $10 million from Cook, 36. He was arraigned Dec. 31 on four counts of larceny and forgery; if convicted, he faces up to 25 years in jail.

Jennifer & Marc
MAKING IT WORK
With rumors swirling, Marc Anthony, 40, and Jennifer Lopez, 39, rang in 2009 together in Puerto Rico, where they looked into buying property. Reps say the couple are "great," but insiders claim they're not perfect: "The marriage is experiencing frustrations because of added stress of the twins, but they will work things out," says one. "They love each other."

KATY & TRAVIS
They spent the holidays together in Mexico, but just days later Katy Perry, 24, and her boyfriend of almost a year, Travis McCoy, 27, split. Still, the "I Kissed a Girl" singer seemed unfazed at L.A.'s Gridlock bash Dec. 31. Says a source: "She was in a great mood."
JASON & RASHIDA
Yes, he was spotted smooching Drew Barrymore last month, but on Jan. 2, How I Met Your Mother's Jason Segel, 29, stepped out with Rashida Jones, 32. Over dinner at Chateau Marmont in L.A., "There was an obvious flirtatious vibe," says an observer.
MARIO & COURTNEY
He happily posed for photos with fans at the Joonbug New Year's Eve bash at Marquee in N.Y.C., but Mario Lopez, 35, made it clear he already had a date: Broadway actress Courtney Laine Mazza. They began dating months ago, but lately things seem more serious. Sorry, ladies!
STILL SNUGGLING ...
Though Nicollette Sheridan, 45, spent New Year's Eve chatting up someone else, she and beau David Spade, 44, seemed as cozy as ever over that weekend in Las Vegas. Not only did Sheridan check out his comedy show at the Venetian, but on Jan. 3 they had drinks at Tao and dinner at SushiSamba, where a source says, "They definitely were affectionate throughout their meal."
BRAD PITT ON ANGIE VS. JEN
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button star has now addressed the curious case of when exactly he started dating Angelina Jolie. In the February issue of W (out Jan. 20), Pitt explains, "Angie versus Jen. It's so created.... We filmed [Mr. & Mrs. Smith] for a year. We were still filming after Jen and I split up." Pitt refers to Aniston as a "sweetheart" and confirms the duo "check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers."
TYRESE TURNS 30!
Actor-singer-model Tyrese Gibson pulled out all the stops for his Dec. 30 bash at Boulevard3 in Hollywood. Women in body paint mingled, acrobats entertained, and a small albino tiger made an appearance. "Tyrese played with it for a bit," says a guest. Fake snow covered the room, and at 2 a.m. the b-day boy and pals headed to Jerry's Deli for a late-night bite.
• 1/2, Las Vegas: 90210's Adam Gregory turned the big 2-1 with his costar—and real-life love— Jessica Lowndes (inset) at the Bank Nightclub. "They canoodled and danced," says a source.
• 1/3, L.A.: Dita Von Teese joined Prince at Bardot Hollywood. The pals greeted each other with cheek kisses and sat "whispering and laughing like old friends," says an onlooker.
NEW YEAR'S EVE 2009!
Hollywood spanned the globe to ring in the new year. Couples reigned at Nikki Beach in St. Barts, where Nick Cannon hung with Beyoncé and Jay-Z as his wife, Mariah Carey, performed—"they danced on a couch," says a source. Miami's Fontainebleau Hotel had Diddy take over LIV nightclub with Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo. At the Shore Club's Skybar Kristin Cavallari partied with Gerard Butler, who snapped pics of himself.
5 Questions for ...
The star of lesbian drama The L Word dishes about kissing friends and how she keeps her Flashdance bod
1 What's in store for your character, Bette?
We apply for adopting a child, and that is going to be interesting. In 10 years, I can see her in New York having a major gallery.
2 This sixth season, which premieres on Jan. 18, is the last. How did the cast celebrate?
We had a dinner prior to everyone wrapping, but everyone was done at different times. It was like senior year of high school in the way people dealt with it differently. I might do [a photo book] for the cast and crew.
3 Your good friend Marlee Matlin is on the show, and now Elizabeth Berkley is a guest. What's it like doing a love scene with a pal?
It's much, much harder. You end up laughing hysterically. It's a disaster for scenes because it makes it harder to get through them. Marlee can make me laugh instantly.
4 You look fantastic. How do you keep in such good shape?
A couple of years ago [L Word costar] Mia Kirshner did a mini-triathlon and she had so much fun, so I did a spring triathlon. Being the obsessive-compulsive person I am, I didn't get the swim just right, so I did another one.
5 Though Bette's life is drama-filled, you are happily married and have a 3-year-old daughter. What's the best part of being a working mom?
That I can pay a mortgage! I don't think I'm like Bette. [My life] is very different, night and day! She has better clothes.
