BIRTHDAY
August 4

What's a typical work day like for you and Cole?

We live about an hour away from the Suite Life set—two hours with traffic—so it can be kind of hectic getting to work. Usually we wake up at 5:30 and then we argue about who's going into the shower first because that five extra minutes of sleep is essential. We get ready and get on the road. We have to be there by 8 a.m. because we have to do schoolwork [the 11th graders are tutored on the set].

Are you used to that routine by now?

The problem is we never really go to sleep on time. We probably should be in bed at like 10:30, 10, but we go to bed at 12. We're tired during the day and during school but as soon as we get home, we're awake.

Do you and Cole consider yourselves best friends?

We don't actually call each other our best friends. We're brothers, so in a lot of ways we act like best friends but we're too close, you know? We argue and fight. You don't really do that with your best friends!

What do you guys fight over?

We usually fight because we want something. Let's say we both have our cereal bowls but there's only enough milk for one bowl. We'll fight over that—and video games.

Do you have a girlfriend right now?

No, I'm single [starts singing Beyoncé's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)"].

What do you generally look for in a girl?

Someone who's willing to have fun and...oh!...somebody who's willing to go out and eat anywhere. I had a girlfriend and she was disgusted by everywhere I took her! I took her to a Chinese food place, a curry place, and she was always disgusted.

You're not a picky eater?

No, that's our dad's doing. He introduced us to a whole lot of food. Escargot is pretty good. And we've tried fried alligator. But liver and onions is where I stop. I tried it once but couldn't finish it.

Do you ever pull pranks on-set?

We've pulled a couple but we have a pretty good work ethic so when it's time to go to work we don't fool around. The best attempted prank was on our costar Matt Timmons, who plays Woody. He's terrified of balloons. So Cole had the idea to fill up his dressing room with balloons. It got leaked somehow, so we never ended up doing it, but maybe one day.

When was the last time you were grounded?

A couple weeks ago. I knocked Cole into something and it broke. Yup. And then I went to my room, which is kind of an awesome room. It's kind of like, "Oh, okay. This isn't punishment. This is vacation." I don't have a TV in my room though because my dad knows if I did I'd probably be up until like 3 o'clock in the morning. So when I'm older and living alone it'll be a treat for me. I'm looking forward to that—I can eat ice cream and stay in my room and watch TV.

Have either of you accidentally done any physical damage to the other one?

Well, I didn't do this to him but I kind of influenced it: We were on a swing in our backyard and it was up on a steep hill. I was swinging on my stomach and I was like, "Cole, you have to try this." And he tried it and he flew off and landed on his head and got a concussion. I was going, "You're flying, you're flying...oh, you're not flying, you're just lying on the ground." And then I freaked out and I ran down the hill as fast as I could.
