THAT'S AMORE!
What could be more romantic than George Clooney motoring along the winding roads near his Lake Como villa with a new leading lady nestled close behind him? Since meeting through mutual friends in Rome July 22, Clooney, 48, and Italian bombshell Elisabetta Canalis, 30, have spent endless hours near Lake Como, visiting Clooney's favorite haunts and double-dating with his pals Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. Who's Canalis? The model and current host of Italy's version of MTV's Total Request Live "is a beautiful girl who's full of life," friend Alfredo Rossi tells Scoop. And she may already be smitten: "I believe that the time has come," she recently wrote on her Facebook page, "to meet the love of my life."

FROM FLING TO FATHERHOOD
When Jude Law's rep announced that the actor would be the father of a child due in the fall, the mother remained a mystery. Not for long. The next day, the press named Samantha Burke, 24, a model and aspiring actress from Pensacola, Fla., who met Law, 36, last year while he filmed Sherlock Holmes in New York. Law, who has three kids with ex-wife Sadie Frost, is "no longer in a relationship with [Burke]," says his rep, "but he intends to be a fully supportive part of the child's life."

'LONELY GIRL'
"I'm not going to ignore the pink elephant in the room," says Jennifer Aniston, 40, in the September issue of Elle. "If I'm the emblem for 'This is what it looks like to be the lonely girl getting on with her life,' so be it." The actress, who was recently linked to Bradley Cooper and is filming her upcoming flick The Baster, adds that she supports "women, men, anybody who is in a place that's not their strongest and who is ready to push forward."

The Britain's Got Talent runner-up, 48, donned a pair of chic Giuseppe Zanottis for the photo shoot, insisting all the while, "I wear heels. Sometimes I do."

ON A DIET!
Following weeks of ridicule on blogs about his expanding waistline, Kevin Federline, 31, has begun a diet, his rep confirms to Scoop. "He's 100 percent healthy, [but] he plans to get back in tip-top shape," the rep says of the formerly lean backup dancer. "He's going to the gym, cutting back on carbs, junk food, [and he's] training."

Gossip Girl's youngest cast member celebrated her milestone July 28 by rocking a 40-minute set with her band the Pretty Reckless at N.Y.C.'s Hiro Ballroom in the Maritime Hotel. Onscreen dad Matthew Settle, castmates Michelle Trachtenberg, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr and close to 400 fans came to hear her jam.
DANCING QUEEN
Dancing with the Stars' Julianne Hough toasted her 21st b-day at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City Aug. 1. The country crooner tossed back shots and danced to Michael Jackson tunes. Boyfriend Chuck Wicks wasn't on hand, but he was definitely on her mind. "[He] was at my real birthday party [July 20]," she told Scoop.

1 Who do you text message the most?
Probably Vanessa [Hudgens]. We text about what we're doing and when we're going to get together. But I still need to talk to my friends on the phone!
2 You're now a brunette. How does it differ from being a blonde?
I feel more like myself because I'm naturally brunette. But being a brunette really brings out the rocker in me. My edgier side.
3 What's your biggest fashion no-no?
Things that have neon colors. It's just so out there! I'm more into browns, whites and blacks.
4 What's always in your airplane carry-on bag?
A sweatshirt, socks, a book and a stuffed animal—it's a Build-a-Bear. I like to put it against the window and rest my head on it.
5 What was your most starstruck moment?
Meeting Angelina Jolie. It was in the middle of an airport. She was supersweet. She said that Zahara loved my outfits on High School Musical. I was freaking out. I wanted to babysit!
