Renée & Bradley's CANADIAN LOVE-A-THON!
After a quick trip last month to visit Bradley Cooper's hometown of Philadelphia (and an earlier jaunt to Barcelona), Renée Zellweger, 40, packed her bags again for a visit with her beau in Vancouver where Cooper, 34, is filming The A-Team. On Sept. 10 the duo dined with pals at Blue Water Café, and two nights later attended Summer Sessions at Ambleside, a charity concert organized by Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan. So do all the frequent-flyer miles add up to things getting serious? One pal thinks so: "They're such a great couple. They're having a great time and are really happy."

RUMOR PATROL

Responded Cavallari: "Stupid rumors, but I couldn't have said it better myself."
Maksim & Karina BALLROOM SPLIT!
The Dancing with the Stars pros call it quits as rumors swirl about what really happened
When Dancing with the Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff got engaged on New Year's Eve 2008, close pal and fellow pro dancer Tony Dovolani recalls joking, "It's either going to be beautiful or a disaster. Either way it's going to be fun to watch." But when the couple called it quits Sept. 8, Dovolani ate his words. "This is not fun," he says. "It's really hard."
Things aren't likely to get easier. On Sept. 20 the pair are slated to perform together in a segment at the Emmy Awards in L.A. The following night the ninth season of DWTS kicks off. But Karina isn't dreading any awkward missteps. "It's going to be great," she says. "Maks and I have known each other for 14 years, and we were friends before anything else."
While Karina, 31, puts on a brave face, pals say Maksim, 29, has been wearing his heart on his sleeve. "He's upset," says colleague Mark Ballas. "He loved Karina very much."
But in the end nothing was enough to sustain a relationship that pals say had run its course. Early on, the duo's passion was driven by Maksim's decade-long crush on Karina. But when the couple began spending almost every waking moment together, including on the DWTS tour and in the Broadway production of Burn the Floor, some of the fantasy faded. "They discovered some things they didn't like about each other," DWTS pro Edyta Sliwinska observes.
A source says that Maksim began to realize that Karina, who previously dated Mario Lopez, was more excited about the media spotlight than the relationship itself. "Karina got a lot of [attention] when she was with Mario, and she got a lot with Maks," says the source. But, adds another, Karina realized she wasn't ready to take the plunge. "She knows now she needs to take time to focus on herself," says a Smirnoff pal.
Dovolani, at least, hopes his friends have learned something from their last tango together. At a recent dinner with Maksim, he advised his pal to "take the positives out of every experience. It was beautiful while it lasted. Now it's time to move on."
