DOWNLOAD: "SHE'S COUNTRY" (CLUB MIX)
This remix of Aldean's No. 1 hit with an assist from rapper Finesse was initially something of a surprise to Aldean himself. "A couple guys on my production team mixed it without me knowing," he says. "But I love it. It gets people's attention."
DOWNLOAD: "THE ONE YOU LOVE"
Clark cowrote this stripped-down ballad after watching her mother's three-year battle with cancer. "As human beings we want to make things okay, yet there's this feeling of helplessness when you can't fix it," says Clark. "It's heart-wrenching." Vince Gill lends his vocal talents to the track.
His Solo CD!
ON HIS OWN
After a decade of partnering with John Rich in Big & Rich, Kenny Alphin releases his solo CD, The Quiet Times of a Rock and Roll Farm Boy, Oct. 27. The songs are "a total experience of me musically and my life and things that move me," says the singer.
He wrote it while driving across the Colorado Rockies and watching his wife, Christiev, and son Lincoln, 4, sleep. "It was so beautiful to watch them," he says. "The song is about that kind of intense feeling seeing somebody and knowing you are a part of the same thing."
MORE TRACKS WE LOVE...
"THE WAY LOVE LOOKS"
The 27-year-old singer wrote the song for his wife, to celebrate "the fun, quirky things that make love great."
"It's about not having to fit in to be accepted," says Jacob. "I want girls to say, 'I'm perfect the way I am.' "
The former diesel mechanic says his single is about leaving "a job you hate and chasing dreams."
"WAITING ON YOU"
The ballad "is about waiting for the one you love," says lead singer Donny Fallgatter.
Loveless says she restored the original coal-mining lyrics to this 1963 Johnny Cash hit, "so it has an Appalachian feel to it."
