One's An Indie-Rocker, Another Coaches Kids' Soccer. All About Twilight's Hottest Cold-Blooded Costars
as Emmett Cullen
"Not to be boastful, but I live my life just like Emmett," the 24-year-old North Dakota native says of his vampire alter ego. "It's live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment, and that's why I fell in love with my character." The former model—and on-again, off-again boyfriend of 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord—is also an on-set prankster: "I like to scare the girls—just hiding behind a door, all you have to do is grab their leg, and there goes the coffee." As for BFF and costar Ashley Greene, "I can tell anything and everything to her."
as Rosalie Hale
The naturally dark-haired, olive-skinned actress, 21, admits that the fan dissent about her casting as Edward's haughty blonde sister stung. "What I want to say to fans is: You have no idea how badly I want to make this right for you." To that end, she bleached her hair (it fell out; for New Moon she dons a wig) and protected her skin from the sun with zinc oxide cream. But Reed—who is dating Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis—says she gets plenty of Twi-love, too. "There's a Nikki Reed mafia group that shows up to events to make sure that nobody is mean to me."
as Alice Cullen
Warning: This vamp does not like to lose. "I'm really competitive," admits Greene, 22, who recently schooled her costars at the Twilight board game. "I won! I don't know if I should be proud of that or not." She should own it, the same way she embraced the decision to drop out of her Jacksonville, Fla., high school one semester shy of graduation and—with her parents' blessing—move to L.A. to pursue acting. After doing guest parts on TV shows like Crossing Jordan, Greene's big break came as the clairvoyant Alice in Twilight. Before returning to New Moon, Greene wrapped three other movies (and was also linked to Adrian Grenier, Ian Somerhalder and Chace Crawford), but she always had a piece of Twilight with her. "I have the band that Jasper gave Alice," she says. "I've had it on since the first film and haven't given it back!"
JAMIE CAMPBELL BOWER
Seems like Bower doesn't mind blood. He made his big screen debut in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street opposite a murderous Johnny Depp. Now in New Moon, the Brit, 20, is the bloodthirsty one as Caius, a member of the Volturi's ruling triumvirate. Bower landed in hot water this summer after he told a reporter that he gets "completely naked" in the film—a joke that was taken seriously, setting the Twi-world abuzz. He later apologized on his Twitter account for "misleading people." Still, showing some skin is not beyond Bower. As a boy, "When I wasn't getting attention, I'd pull down my pants," he told the L.A. Times. "And it still works."
as Carlisle Cullen
"If there is chaos, you look to Carlisle for the steady calm," Facinelli, 35, says of his Twilight persona. But the "Fac-man" (as Jackson Rathbone calls him) leads a life that's anything but mellow, bouncing from the Vancouver set to New York City to film his TV show Nurse Jackie to the L.A. home he shares with his wife, 90210 star Jennie Garth, and their three girls Luca Bella, 12, Lola Ray, 6, and Fiona Eve, 2—none of whom are fazed by Dad's stardom. "I co-coach my daughter's soccer team," he says, "and if someone comes over to ask for an autograph, they roll their eyes."
Even before she was a menacing bloodsucker with the ability to impose torturous mental images on her victims' minds, Fanning was a full-fledged Twilighter. "I'm a big fan of the cast," says the star, who also shares the screen with Stewart in 2010's The Runaways. And after years of playing wide-eyed innocents, the 15-year-old says she's psyched to work the dark side. "Playing an evil vampire is really cool."
as Jasper Hale
This member of the Cullen coven has the power to control people's moods. In reality Rathbone, 24, incites only one emotion: excitement. When the Texas-bred star saw the screaming crowd at this year's TwiCon fan convention, he declared, "It makes me feel like a Jonas brother!" Just don't ask him to sing like one: Rathbone prefers performing improv-rock with his band 100 Monkeys or riffing with costars. "Rob and I jammed a lot with Nikki and Kristen," says Rathbone, who next stars in The Last Airbender. "It's like being a family." And family is important to him. Though he was the only boy among three sisters, "we are a complete family unit," he said. "I couldn't function without any of them.
as Esme Cullen
When it comes to leading men, Reaser, 34, isn't doing half bad. Guest-starring on Grey's Anatomy in 2007 as the disfigured Jane Doe, the Michigan-bred star spent quality time opposite Justin Chambers, "who is so fun and down-to-earth," says Reaser. The Juilliard School grad then landed on the Twilight set, which was four times as dazzling: As the steadfast mother-figure of the Cullen clan, Reaser has Peter Facinelli for a husband and Robert, Kellan and Jackson as her sons. But it's the Twi-hard fans she's in awe of most. Says Reaser: "They're the sweetest people."
