Actor Tom Arnold, 50, tied the knot with home organizer Ashley Groussman, 34, in front of some 75 friends and family members in Maui, Hawaii, Nov. 28. Comedian Dax Shepard served as best man and brought his girlfriend, actress Kristen Bell. Other celebrities in attendance included Oscar-winner Helen Hunt and Austin Powers star Mike Myers. The newlyweds became engaged at the groom's birthday party in March after dating for nearly a year. This is the fourth marriage for Arnold, who was wed to actress-comic Roseanne Barr from 1990 to 1994.
Tennis star Serena Williams (inset), 28, has been fined a record $82,500 for her outburst at this year's U.S. Open. The top-ranked player approached a line judge, shouted and appeared to threaten her by shaking a ball in her face during her Sept. 12 match against the tournament's eventual winner Kim Clijsters. She could be suspended from the Open if she has another major offense at any Grand Slam event in the next two years. If she commits another major infraction during that time, her fine will be doubled.
Music producer Rodney Jerkins (Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige), 32, and his wife, singer-actress Joy Enriquez, 34, welcomed daughter Heavenly Joy in L.A. Nov. 17. The new arrival joins big brother Rodney David Jr., 18 months.
Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba, 41, is "much better," she told People, after undergoing neck surgery in L.A. Nov. 25. She has arthritis and spinal stenosis, but joked that the real pains were fellow judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli. "They have been removed from my neck," she says, "and I have no more pain!"
Barry P. Carpenter, the suspended police chief of Martins Ferry, Ohio, was convicted Nov. 23 of three of the six counts in connection with a break-in at the home of a surrogate mother who was carrying twins for actors Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband, Matthew Broderick. Carpenter was accused of stealing various items from the home of Michelle Ross last May in an attempt to sell them to paparazzi. Although acquitted of the most serious charges, of burglary, he faces up to 6½ years in prison when he is sentenced Dec. 30.
Vintner Tareq Salahi and his wife, Michaele (inset, with President Obama), have been asked to testify at a Dec. 3 hearing on the security breach that allowed them into the Nov. 24 White House state dinner without showing an invitation. Some lawmakers have called for criminal charges, and the Secret Service said it is "deeply concerned and embarrassed."
