News & Fun from the Country Universe
The singer, 33, who will release his new CD, Hillbilly Bone, March 2, reveals his worst moment onstage and his secret crush (shh! don't tell Miranda)
1 The first concert I ever saw was...
Sawyer Brown in Ada, Okla. I was 15, and it definitely made me want to do this for a living. I went and bought the ticket, but I used my parents' money.
2 The song that makes me happy is...
"Celebration" by Kool & the Gang.
3 One day I'd like to see...
The set of The Price Is Right. I don't care who the host is or who's on, I just love the game.
4 I think gummy bears should be a food group.
5 I will never eat...sushi. I don't like the way it smells, the way it looks and the way I imagine it tastes.
6 The most embarrassing thing I've ever done onstage was...tripped and fell opening for Rascal Flatts. The stage was wet, I slipped, and it took me about 7 minutes to get upright again. My guitar was on one end of the stage and the microphone on another.
7 I love to read...tweets on Twitter. I mostly follow people based on their pictures. I'll follow cleavage!
8 My favorite cartoon is...
Woody Woodpecker. It's just funny to say his name.
9 My good luck charm is...
10 I dream about...
Katy Perry. I like her music, but I think she's smokin' hot too.
Jimmy Wayne's 1,700-MILE CRUSADE
Having known homelessness himself, the singer is walking from Nashville to Phoenix to help homeless teens
You know, I lived last year to the fullest; I had so much fun touring with Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley, but I didn't have time to give back. When everything was settling down, I was in my house relaxing, and I had this feeling of guilt just come over me.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE YOU?
I walk about 3 mph. I started out thinking I was going to do 25 miles a day, but that's not happening: You spend three hours a day talking to people! It's going to take a minimum of 2½ to 3 months.
ANY INTERESTING MOMENTS ALONG THE WAY?
I went into this biker bar and said, "Hey guys, can I use the restroom?" Nobody spoke to me. It was like an old Clint Eastwood film. Then someone said, "Right, there it is." When I came back out, they didn't even look at me, but one of them said, "I know who you are. Be safe." Very cool.

JASON MICHAEL CARROLL'S MOVIE STAR MAKEOVER
"I walked into a salon in Nashville, held up a picture of Bradley Cooper from The Hangover and said, 'Can you do this?' " Carroll says of his new look. So how does he like the result? "What's funny is when my hair was long, I would wash it and just let it fall. Now I'm using product and figuring when to put it in-not when it's dry, but not when it's wet either!"
She played an Alaskan mail pilot on the '90s drama Northern Exposure, and now Janine Turner is flying into new territory as a country singer, recording a debut CD, Mockingbird Hill, with daughter Juliette, 12.
