CELINE DION EXPECTING TWINS 'I NEVER GAVE UP'

Celine Dion's long-and often heart-wrenching-dream of expanding her family has come true, times two! On May 30 the singer announced she is 14 weeks pregnant with twins due in November. "We're ecstatic," her husband and manager, René Angélil, 68, tells Scoop. "She was hoping for one baby, and the news that we are having two is a double blessing."

Dion, 42, has long been open about her struggle to make her son René-Charles, 9, a big brother. After five failed IVF attempts in the last year, she turned to acupuncture to improve her chances; she and Angélil believe it helped make their sixth IVF attempt a success. "I never gave up," Dion-who will soon learn the twins' genders-told the French-language newspaper Le Journal de Montreal on May 31 of her "physically and emotionally exhausting" journey through IVF, which included estrogen patches, daily hormone injections and frequent blood tests. "It's stressful but I'm relaxing. I look at my little belly. I do almost nothing. If you tell me I have to stay in bed, I will stay in bed. To bring them into the world, there's nothing more important than that. It's incredible."

FERGIE TELLS OPRAH: I'D BEEN DRINKING

Five days after she was caught on video offering an undercover reporter access to her ex-husband Prince Andrew for a $40,000 down payment, Sarah Ferguson, 50, sat down with Oprah Winfrey to view the footage. "I haven't faced the devil because I was in the gutter," she said, admitting she'd been "drinking" during the sting. Says a friend of Fergie's, who reunited with daughters Princesses Beatrice, 21, and Eugenie, 20, in the U.K. May 29: "She's hugely remorseful."

FLIRTING

CHARLIZE THERON & RYAN GOSLING

Ryan Gosling, 29, and Charlize Theron, 34, exchanged numbers at a Brentwood, Calif., party after slow dancing the night away. "They were super-flirty," says an onlooker. "Beyond giddy with each other."

SPLIT OR STUNT?

HEIDI MONTAG & SPENCER PRATT

Heidi Montag, 23, who recently split from husband Spencer Pratt, 26, will spend the summer in Malibu with pal Jen Bunney. Says a source: Heidi wants "time away from drama." Or are they just cooking up more drama?

ENGAGED

JOANNA GARCIA & NICK SWISHER

A-Rod and Derek Jeter, take note: Months after calling her "my lady," New York Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher, 29, proposed to Privileged star JoAnna Garcia, 30, who happily accepted.

BRET MICHAELS MAKES HIS CONCERT COMEBACK

Just hours before Bret Michaels took the stage at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, Miss., May 28, he heard the news: Gary Coleman had been killed by a brain hemorrhage-something the rocker had just survived. "My doctor called to say, 'Don't fall. You can't afford to,'" says Michaels, 47. Even without his scissor kicks and audience dives, the Celebrity Apprentice winner-who's still on painkillers and blood thinners-wowed 1,400 fans with a 75-plus-minute, high-energy set. (There were four EMTs in the wings.) Michaels, who hopes to tour throughout the summer, told concertgoers at the Rib America festival in St. Louis the next day (inset), "Thank you-my soul needed that."

ALICIA KEYS & SWIZZ BEATZ ENGAGED (AND EXPECTING!)

They've dated quietly for about a year and a half (never officially confirming their relationship), but finally singer Alicia Keys and music producer Swizz Beatz made two big public announcements: They're getting married and they're pregnant with their first child together. "They're very happy," says a friend of the couple, while reps say they'll wed "later this year." Another pal says Keys, 30, is "thrilled" to be a first-time mom; her fiancé (real name: Kasseem Dean), 31, has two sons from former relationships.

LINDSAY'S SCRAM STYLE

After a May 24 court order forced Lindsay Lohan to wear a SCRAM alcohol-monitoring device, the actress, 23, did go to a club May 26 (she didn't drink), but has kept a low profile since. "She's more relaxed and happier than she's been in a long time," says a source.

TOM AND KATIE PARTY WITH THE BAND!

After taking in The Black Eyed Peas' concert in London May 27, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes kept the party going at the Bacardi-sponsored bash at indigO2. Joining will.i.am, Cruise sang (the song "Someday" from his flick Knight and Day) and "goofed around," says an eyewitness. Holmes danced with Fergie and "loved up" Cruise. "It was unreal!"

GLEE FOR ALL!

They've been traveling the country on their Glee concert tour, but the cast hasn't let work get in the way of fun. After taking on Chicago, the group headed to N.Y.C. for the last leg, where they helped Chris Colfer (a.k.a. Kurt) celebrate his 20th birthday. On May 27 the gang started out with a private tour of the Empire State Building before heading to Greenhouse for the bash, where they ended the night with a dance-off against their opening act, the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers.

TONY'S VEGAS B-DAY

Eva Longoria Parker went all out for hubby Tony Parker's 28th birthday. Surrounded by family and friends, they ate at her steakhouse Beso, then moved the party to her nightclub Eve, where she introduced him to the crowd. "Give it up for TP!" she exclaimed. They topped off the night with a black-and-white "TONY" cake.

DANCE KICK-OFF!

So You Think You Can Dance started its seventh season May 27 at L.A.'s Trousdale lounge with a viewing party hosted by the show's M.C. Cat Deeley. The bash was a mix of new SYTYCD hopefuls and alums and was a welcome party of sorts for a new judge, choreographer Mia Michaels. Deeley played the perfect hostess. "I'm so lucky!" she told Scoop.
