Avatar actress Zoe Saldana, 32, plans to walk down the aisle with her boyfriend, Keith Britton, 33, CEO of the website My Fashion Database. The couple, who have dated for 10 years, have not set a date for the nuptials.
Wedding bells rang out for The Office star Jenna Fischer, 36, and screenwriter Lee Kirk, 38, in Malibu on July 3. The pair, who started dating in 2008, exchanged vows in front of family and friends, and afterward Fischer's Office costar Rainn Wilson tweeted that he "went to the most beautiful wedding I've ever experienced." • Dethroned beauty queen Carrie Prejean, 23, married Oakland Raiders quarterback Kyle Boller, 29, on July 2 in San Diego. The couple met last July, a month after Prejean was stripped of her Miss California USA crown because of contract violations. Miss California USA officials said that Prejean did not fulfill her appearances, although Prejean claims that it was due to her stated opposition to same-sex marriage.
After crashing his dirt bike on June 29 and puncturing a lung, reality actor Dean McDermott (inset), 43, has been released from an ICU at a Los Angeles-area hospital. "I'll be doing rehab for a while," he tweeted. Despite the accident, McDermott still has an appetite. When asked by wife Tori Spelling, 37, with whom he stars in Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, what he needed when she saw him, he said an "Oreo McFlurry." This was not McDermott's first accident: earlier this year he fractured his shoulder in a motorcycle crash and now says he "won't be dirt-biking anymore."
Longtime Hollywood agent Ed Limato-who worked with such stars as Robert Downey Jr., Claire Danes, Denzel Washington, Michelle Pfeiffer and Marlon Brando-died July 3 in Beverly Hills at the age of 73 of lung disease. Besides nurturing the careers of many, he was also known for throwing a huge and much-coveted pre-Academy Awards bash at his home in Coldwater Canyon. • Don Coryell-the legendary San Diego Chargers coach who introduced the "Air Coryell" offense, which stressed the idea of throwing combined with the precision movement of players-died July 1 at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, Calif., at the age of 85. Coryell's innovation made him one of the fathers of the modern passing game. While he never took his team to the Super Bowl, he did help the Chargers become a leader in passing statistics from 1978 to 1986.
A SETTLEMENT FOR JAYCEE
California lawmakers approved a $20 million payment to kidnap victim Jaycee Dugard, 30, who vanished in 1991 and surfaced in August 2009 with daughters Angel, 15, and Starlit, 12. The girls were fathered by convicted rapist Phillip Garrido, 59, whom the state's department of corrections started monitoring in 1999. Despite visits to Garrido's Antioch-area home, parole agents failed to discover Dugard and the girls. "It is compensation for three people for the rest of their lives who have been horribly damaged," said retired judge Daniel Weinstein, who helped mediate the July 1 settlement. Garrido and his wife, Nancy, are currently in jail awaiting trial.
