"Whether you are a modern-day woman or an old-fashioned girl, we all love a fairy-tale wedding"
I have admired Carrie since she won American Idol, so I thoroughly enjoyed the story about her wedding. She is a beautiful girl who always seems to be smiling, and she dresses like a lady. From the adoring way Carrie and Mike gaze at each other, it is obvious that they both managed to find a gem.
Thanks very much for the great article and gorgeous photos of Carrie's wedding. In this day and age it is refreshing to see a young couple in the public eye who have solid values and seem to really be in love. I wish them all the best as they start their new life together.
Seneca Falls, N.Y.
Carrie and her new husband had a wedding they will always remember, but Mike Fisher should have taken a few extra minutes to shave before he got married. His scruffy look was out of place at the couple's elegant nuptials.
All the drama over Ms. Lohan's jail sentence is ridiculous. This young woman violated the terms of her probation but acts as if she is being mistreated. Despite her obvious sense of entitlement, she is no different from anyone else who broke the law. To read that Lindsay is "freaking out" at the prospect of a sober future is heartbreaking. I hope she wakes up before it's too late.
Welcome to the real world, Lindsay. You've been pushing your luck for years, and the time has come to pay the piper. Maybe your short stint behind bars will open your eyes to what the rest of the world already knows: You have a huge amount of talent, and you are foolishly throwing it all away.
Mel is responsible for his actions, so if he is going broke, it's his fault. On the tapes he sounds like a madman. I can't feel sorry for someone who talks to the mother of his child that way. My opinion of Mel has completely changed, and I'll never watch one of his movies again.
While Bristol's devotion to her son is admirable, she has many advantages a typical teen mother does not have. Please spare us the unrealistic fluff pieces on the "hard stuff" she is tackling. Ms. Palin leads a charmed, privileged life.

DR. ANDREW MOORE
I was happy to see the story on Dr. Moore, who performed surgery on me last year and did an outstanding job. He is a joy to know—a good man performing quiet miracles in moments of grace.
Seven months and 1,700 miles after leaving Nashville on foot, country singer Jimmy Wayne reached the end of his inspiring journey in Phoenix on Aug. 1. His goal was to raise awareness about homeless teens who age out of the foster care system. Wayne, 37, wore through eight pairs of sneakers walking across six states and endured countless blisters plus a broken foot, but he says his pain is beside the point. "I hope what people realize and remember is not what I did but what I did it for," says Wayne. "I get a lot of, 'I can't believe you walked across America,' but what I should be hearing is, 'I can't believe there are homeless kids in this country!'"
In our Aug. 2 issue, we said the Karlstad chaise lounge sells for $99 at ikea.com. The correct price is $349.
