BRITNEY & JASON NO TROUBLE IN PARADISE

There's nothing toxic about this couple. Amid speculation over a tabloid report that Britney Spears is in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend of more than a year, Jason Trawick, 39, the pair jetted off to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for the pop star's 29th birthday. Her rep vehemently denies the allegations: "[Jason] has never laid a hand on Britney." A source adds, "They're both very in love." Adds another, "She thought it was really sweet that he took her away." Before the trip, Spears also spent birthday time in L.A. with the other main men in her life, sons Preston, 5, and Jayden, 4. "They're in a really good place," says a pal.

DEMI LOVATO FIGHT FALLOUT

Dancer Alex Welch, who was punched in the face by Demi Lovato, 18, during a fight on an airplane in Colombia five weeks ago, says she still has not heard from the Disney Channel star and singer. "I haven't gotten an apology. I've heard nothing," Welch, 21, tells PEOPLE. "That's sad if you think that person is your friend." Lovato, who's in treatment for physical and emotional issues, has been unable to call Welch herself, claims a source, but efforts have been made to reach her. Welch's lawyer says his client is unaware of the overtures and considering legal action. "No one should walk up and do that and brush it over," adds Welch. "It's not right."

"Brooke is struggling with sobriety, and we are going away on a cruise, so we feel better that she will be there while we are gone," says her mom, Moira Fiore. "Paris and the other girls were going to Las Vegas, and Brooke did not feel she could handle it; she was scared." Mueller is staying in an undisclosed location while also seeing her twin sons. Says Fiore: "Brooke is really trying to get her life back."
