LINDSAY LOHAN TROUBLE IN REHAB
Just weeks away from Lindsay Lohan's completing three months of court-ordered rehab, drama erupted for the actress on Dec. 12, after Betty Ford employee Dawn Holland accused her of battery. Allegedly caught breaking curfew, Lohan reportedly smelled of alcohol and refused a Breathalyzer test. In a tussle that ensued, Holland claimed Lohan threw one phone at her and tried to rip another out of her hand, causing a sprain. Lohan, 24, denied she struck first. Holland was fired for violating Betty Ford privacy rules by speaking to the media and, in a surprising twist, her attorney conceded that "a crime has quite simply not been committed by Ms. Lohan." The actress, however, could still face jail if her judge determines she broke any of the treatment center's rules.
Taking the pulse of celebrity love lives
BOND'S NEW GIRL!
DANIEL CRAIG & RACHEL WEISZ
Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig play husband and wife in the upcoming film Dream House. Looks like they share plenty of offscreen designs too. More than a month after announcing her split from Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, the Oscar winner, 39, was reportedly spotted snuggling with the Bond star, 42, in a small pub in Dorset, on the southwest coast of England. Aronofsky, 41-Weisz's longtime fiance with whom she shares a son, Henry, 4-was blindsided by the romance, says a source. Weisz and Craig, on the other hand, "were laughing and chatting and hanging on to each other's words and stopping to take photos of each other," an onlooker tells Britain's News of the World. "They looked like a romantic couple in a film." Added a fellow pub patron, according to the paper: "They were clinging to each other like honeymooners."
JUSTIN BIEBER & SELENA GOMEZ
They ordered room service from STK Miami at 4 a.m. on Dec. 18, but like Bieber's rep, Gomez, 18, tells Scoop she and the singer, 16, are "just friends."
LANDON DONOVAN & BIANCA KAJLICH
After a year of public ups and downs, the separated soccer star, 28, filed for divorce from his TV-actress wife, 33. They vow to "remain the closest of friends."
JENNY MCCARTHY & PAUL KREPELKA
Last month McCarthy, 38, said she was looking for a "nice guy." She might have found him in the sports lawyer, 43. "They've been on a couple dates," says a source.
A HOLIDAY WITH HER FAMILY
All Demi Lovato wanted for Christmas was a day pass to leave treatment. She got her wish. On Dec. 25 Lovato left the center, where she has been getting help for "emotional and physical issues" and spent the day with her mom, stepdad and sisters. "It's the most important holiday to her," said a source close to the family. Before the holiday, the 18-year-old star also reached an undisclosed settlement with Alex Welch, the dancer she hit in an October fight. "Everything is done," Welch, 21, told PEOPLE, adding that she hopes Lovato "gets better."
YOU OUGHTA KNOW... GLEE'S LAUREN POTTER
Lauren Potter, 20, didn't make her own high school cheer-leading squad in Riverside, Calif., but says she's more than made up for it playing Sue Sylvester's right-hand Cheerio, Becky Jackson, on Glee. Wearing the uniform "makes me feel like a typical person," says the actress, who has Down syndrome. "People with special needs come up and say they're inspired by her," says her brother Blake Peters, 25. Lauren is a huge fan of Jane Lynch's ("She's nice in real life!") and likes new character Sam (Chord Overstreet) but prefers her own boyfriend, Sean McElwee, 17, whom she met at the L.A. Buddy Walk for people with Down syndrome. "We fell in love!"
THEY'RE NOT BROTHERS, BUT THEY COULD BE!
JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN AND JAVIER BARDEM
While Morgan, 44, achieved TV immortality playing ghostly Denny Duquette on ABC's Grey's Anatomy, Bardem, 41, faces death in his buzzed-about new film Biutiful.
IAN SOMERHALDER AND ROB LOWE
Somerhalder, 32, stars in The Vampire Diaries on the CW; Lowe, 46, displays biting wit on NBC's Parks and Recreation.
SAM TRAMMELL AND JASON TRAWICK
Trammell, 41, a shape-shifter on HBO's True Blood, could easily morph into Britney Spears' boyfriend Trawick, 39.
Courteney Cox Arquette & David Arquette
A WAKE-UP CALL FOR DAVID?
From the looks of it, the last few months have been one big party for David Arquette, 39. But a close friend of the actor says his split from Courteney Cox Arquette continues to "take a toll on him." And Arquette's unpredictable behavior has his estranged wife concerned, says a source close to Cox, 46. "She's really worried. She wants him to deal with his issues so he can continue to be a great dad." It's a sentiment Arquette himself seems to share. "He's made an effort to stop drinking," says his friend. "He recognized he was getting out of hand."
